The one sentence Grant Ward in the real world needed to hear: Framework!Victoria Hand "You could be a good man." Instead he got John Garrett saying: John Garrett "That's not a weakness, is it?" I still believe Real World:Grant is responsible for all of his actions. But all he needed was a push in the right direction. Much like how in the framework, Leo got a push in the wrong direction and became just as monstrous as the real Grant Ward.

this comment! so many people hate on ward and I don’t think he’s blameless, because he isn’t, but garrett is. I just rewatched season one and words don’t describe how much i want to punch garrett for what he did to ward

Adonit Cnut you obviously didn't understand the purpose of the clip. Radcliffe said one sentence, one decision, one person can change your life which is the perfect way to describe what happened to Grant Ward. Grant became a villain because of what his family did to him and then Garrett was the one who found him. In the Framework ark it was shown what Ward could have become if he didn't meet Garrett and instead met Victoria Hand. Framework ark showed how Ward could have become a hero if he met the right person who told him the right words.

Then why was Fritz a psychopath in the Framework then? The big point in that ark is that not because a person is a villain it doesn't mean they are naturally bad or evil, sometimes they just turned that way because of circumstances. Throughout Ward's time being a human villain and not as Hive he has shown times where he actually cared, like his moments with Skye and Kara. I don't believe he was always evil and that was obvious in the flashbacks during his training days with Garrett even his interaction with his siblings. Actually there are similarities between Ward and Captain America, in which if things were different in the past a hero can become a villain (Captain America being a Hydra sleeper agent because of the Cosmic Cube).

It's difficult to discount the years of abuse he has suffered under his family and Garrett. That's the entire premise of the Framework presenting a what could have been. Ofcourse there could have been a miscalculation but it's too strong of an assumption to just say that Ward is a psychopath since birth, since based on the flashbacks when he was younger he was actually a protective person (trying to save his younger brother from the well) and actually have conscience (feeling bad about hurting his brother and also having a hard time killing living beings) if he was truly a psychopath since birth then he should have been more like his older brother when he was younger. It's similar to Joker's "One Bad Day" Ward became a psychopath because of his situation. Ofcourse that doesn't mean Ward gets a pass for the things he's done i'm just saying if under better circumstances Ward could have been a hero.

This was beautiful. If only real life Ward had someone else beside Garett, someone like Victoria he would have turned out different. He would be good. There was always good in him, just buried deep down. I just finished season 4 and I already miss Ward. It sucks that season 4 is the last time we get to see him. He was an amazing character, so complex and interesting. Brett Dalton did a great job at playing him. I can’t imagine someone else being Ward.

Might get a bit of flak for saying this but what the hell, Grant Ward is without a doubt not only the mcu's greatest villain but the mcu's greatest character.

He’s not a villain. Grant Ward is an anti-hero... His character is so unique and is such a wildcard, you don’t know what is going to happen with him. That’s why he’s the best character in the mcu.

Too bad he isn't in the MCU. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is considered non-canon. Fingers crossed they bring him in at some point, maybe with a better arc.

This is so beautiful. And it haunts me. It haunts me how deeply Grant Ward was changed by simple sentences in his life. Ones that would make or break him. And they /broke/ him. Broke him to the point that he didn't think he was worth anything and that only one person would be able to make him worth something by him doing what they wanted. And when they were gone? He was lost. Stumbling and trying to find his way to the point where sentences mattered once again. And again, the sentences broke him off into chaos. And he deserved so much more than being broken by them.

This was beautiful and so, so perfect. It perfectly highlights the conditioning, abuse, and heartbreaking path for Ward. If only Ward had someone who cared for him, to help him.... Grant Ward Deserved Better.

I have this weird theory it's some how really him. I truly believe some how Ward is alive in the frame work I don't know how but I believe it really is him he acts too much like an individual to just be code.

Same I feel like they are hinting at it. He talked about his past in particular the meeting in prison which changed, he also keeps giving off the vibe he's not really computer code. He also says weird things out of the blue. I feel Radcliffe knew the Framework could hold a dead mind is because he found out with Ward. I keep expecting the bomb to drop like AIDA to threaten his life to make Daisy comply by saying "Are you really this stupid? He is Ward not a piece of code he's the real Ward and when you put yourself in here the Framework put you in his fantasy because you both subconsciously want each other!"

Shivani Deshmukh Yeah I just feel it's a bit odd to get rid of him again after there is a way to make him real and alive. I feel he will come back and Skye will keep his secret from everyone and Ghostrider will come after him exposing the secret.

GAH I JUST WISH I DIDNT FOLLOW EVERYONE ON SOCIAL MEDIA WHO HATED WARD BECAUSE I LOVE HIM AND I LOVE HIS REDEMPTION ARC AND THIS VIDEO IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL BUT ALL OF THE WARD HATERS WOULD JUST BRUSH IT OFF😭😭 I love this vid! Radcliffe said the perfect thing to Skye and the audience who need to get it through their thick skull that Ward was made evil., not born like that.

I know it's annoying when people comment this but can you tell me the song you used in this video?? It's haunting! This video is astounding btw. I keep watching it over and over because it's so good. It perfectly paints all these moments in Ward's life where things were out of his control, and the moments where he had a choice to take control but was too scared, already conditioned from years of abuse. And then, seeing what his life would've been in the Framework, by not having Garrett get his hands on him, god it's torture! Knowing this redemption arc was RIGHT THERE but the writers were too cowardly to do it! I'll never let it go, it's gonna chase me the rest of my life, this stupid shit show lol. Anyway, great video!!

Ali Barber I don't think they were cowardly to do his redemption arc, I just think we got a taste of that in the framework and it was in a way his redemption. He was a good guy and sorry for the actions of his alternative self. Daisy got answers that she never knew about before. She now knows that he really was a good man inside. That's redemption. He might not be alive but I think it mirrors real life today! In my opinion this was no lazy writer. I think it comes Down to priorities when writing shows not so much laziness or lack of caring. A lot of these shows are written by several people sometimes, it takes panels of people to plan out these shows and episodes. I just think they can't please everyone. That's really what it comes down to.

Ali Barber Keeping Grant Wad evil was the courageus choice! Every TV show that has a popuar bad guy does the redemtion arc. S.H.I.E.L.D. trusted their audiece to be mature enough to love an unredeamable character.

Aida didn't take anything from Daisy because she didn't scanned her brain, Ward being alive in the Framework is just side effect of erasing Coulson and May regrets. Garett in season 1 said that Skye was thorn in Hydra ass even before she join Shield and before Hydra uprising so I guess in this world when Hydra took over someone from Hydra send Ward after Skye and he decided to recruit her.
