Pinot Gris is a monumentally popular white wine. As Italy's Pinot Grigio, it's produced and guzzled by the ocean load, while Alsace is famed for a richer, spicier, more textural food-oriented version.
With its cool maritime climate, Australia's Mornington Peninsula has made a name for itself with a style that leans more towards the sophistication and complexity of Alsace, while keeping refreshment a priority.
But how do those grapes become that wine? Ed Merrison of Vininspo! heads to the Scorpo vineyard in Merricks North to track the fruit from vine to winery. He explains in minute but easy-to-grasp detail the choices and actions taken in delivering this drink to you.
