I met a combat camera man in the smoke pit outside our squadron……which was a concrete bomb shelter. Young kid just sucking down cigarettes. Kid acted very distant. When he was done he said good bye and walked away. Always wondered what ended up happening to him. Young Devil Dog. Semper Fi 🇺🇸

3:45; it may look like chaos, but it really isn’t. You train, you practice, you mull what you’ve learned and experienced, with all that in mind, every marine is doing what they are supposed to do. As to the guy in the doorway yelling, there are times when you are not sure if a message was passed or not you send a runner to pass tthe message on, if the doorway dude already knows he is not going to waste time having the marine run all the way to him. In a gunfight usually you have to yell to be heard. Every machine gun has two men, if you notice, the spotter has one hand on the plate carrier of the gunner as he points out targets and corrections. That hand is so the if the gunner gets hit, the spotter is going to roll him off the gun and take over. If the gunner doesn’t feel the spotter he knows he needs to holla for another person to either take over the gun or spotter duty.

I have two younger brothers in the military one in the Marine Corps the other is in the Army..coincidencdely both were stationed in Hawaii and both got sick of being there real quick lol..Beyond proud of both of them and have complete respect for their service and sacrifice, my biggest regret was not enlisting while I was still medically qualified, unfortunately I've tried 4 times to see if I could sign some kind of medical waiver to be able to enlist but was told I can't...

Medevac helos probably don't carry extra ammo or non-self-defense weapons for obvious reasons even if it doesn't do them any good.

Medivacs primary mission is getting to the wounded quickly, the extra minutes needed to track down ammo and get it to the copter could mean people die. They take off before the entire 9-line is transmitted.

@@Rick-om5pq I said non-self-defense weapons. Self-defense weapons would include door gunners. I don’t know for a fact whether medevac choppers have door gunners or not. They are identified by red crosses but in most cases I don’t think that gives them a safe passage.
