@@jbstepchild it really depends on what caliber rifle but most rifles in use like 5.56, 7.62 nato 7.62 Russian 300 win mag most common calibers used by militaries are all going to be supersonic unless subsonic rounds are used which is uncommon in military or law enforcement applications, 300 blackout being only one that the US military ever played with and only tier 1 units like the naval special warfare development group had some experience using but they largely failed to get any major use. Silencers or suppressors are really only used for some sound reduction and flash reduction, it also makes it much harder to tell where the shot is coming from. It’s not like the movies most suppressed weapons are not quite enough to shoot someone and for no one to hear the shot.

Dallas Alexander and his team actually knew they would, and therefore talked about it. New technology had been utilized with a prism system for long range targets. It changed the game. Almost any modern sniper will acknowledge that technology and systems define the combat theater.

@@ThatMetalheadguy666 sure, by two Australian snipers from 2nd Commando in Afghanistan early 2012, where exactly no idea, they don't give that up easily, both using M82A1's 12.7mm (.50 caliber) rifles. In a coordinated shot at a Taliban leader 2,800 meters away the two snipers fired simultaneously and six seconds later the Taliban chieftain fell dead. It will never be known which of the two shots got him. This is exactly what I mean, nothing absolutely nothing about it, but look up 2800m, M82A1, Afghanistan, Australian Commando and you will find your information.. verifying becomes much harder though

Nice channel! At 2 miles out all snipers will tell you there is a significant amount of luck involved in hitting a target due to the number of factors at play such as drift, coriolis, wind, etc.

These jtf2 guys are not just national heroes to Canada but world heroes because they effectively took out as many kiddy diddlers as they possibly could. This is my first time hearing this story and maybe its a bit sensationalized and/or im misinterpreting it but; it sounds like these guys were purely there as a support/recon team but disregarded/slightly bent orders and turned themselves into a highly effective long range assault team. I consider myself a really good marksman. I cant even begin to comprehend all the calculations that go into making shots that long. Even something as simple as windage is going to be totally different from not only their perch to the target but also alllll the spaces in between
