You donˋt have to read the other 4 Heartstopper books after the first one, but you will want to read them! 😉

Over My Dead Body is my top favorite graphic novel. The artwork is GORGEOUS. It’s currently a stand alone, but I hope she adds to it in the future. The color palate is perfect for Halloween. Bonus for you: it’s a school for witches. 😉

"Fangs" by Sarah Amdersen is a very short but sweet love story between a vampire and a werewolf. The art inside is monochrome, but the cover, is just amazing! ❤

You must read Heartstopper! I was just like you, but then I caved in and gave it a try and it was the best thing I could have ever done! It is so lovely and queer and wholesome, it's the best thing.

I'm so into graphic novels and I've read and enjoyed almost all the ones in this video, so here's some recommandations : Over my dead body by Sweeney Boo (she wrote "Eat" as well, it sounds good but I havent read it yet) Anya's Ghost by Vera Brosgol Always Never by Jordi Lafebre Carbon & Silicon by Mathieu Bablet a famous webtoon, an other style, I'm a big fan of Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe Heartstopper, I was sceptical at first, but I really loved it, and yes, you have to read them in order, I read the four volumes in one afteroon, I sobbed so hard !!!! Being french I could recommand A LOT of good graphic novels by french authors (like Mathieu Bablet) but they haven't been translated yet in english

I’ve never read a graphic novel, but I gave Garlic and the Vampire to my nephew last Christmas (thanks to you, and he liked it), so I should borrow it from him! All of these sound good!

Brenna Thummler illustrated the Anne of Green Gables graphic novel. And although I read and loved both Sheets and Delicates, I was still impressed by the quality of her art and how she draws characters growing up. I would definitely recommand.

Pumpkin Heads and Garlic and the Vampire/Witch are some of my favorite graphic novels! I need to check out Sheets. I started magna yesterday called Polar Bear Cafe about a polar bear who runs a cafe. I guess there is an anime adaptation folks like. It's funny and punny so far, and adorable!

I loved Garlic so much ! I highly recommend Mamo, anything by Kay O’Neill and Feelings (although this one is mostly graphics, not many words). I also thought Heartstopper might not be for me but I read it this year and it was amazing 🥰 you have to try the first one at least!

I haven't read too many graphic novels but I did really enjoy 'Seconds' by Bryan Lee O'Malley.

I HIGHLY recommend Animal Castle by Xavier Dorison and Felix Delep, it's a French graphic novel series. Three out of four volumes are out (in French, and they've all been translated already). It's an homage to Animal Farm, beautifully done, the story is great and the illustrations are gorgeous. Truly my favourite graphic novel out there.

If you like non fiction I highly recommend March: Books one to three by John Lewis, it’s about the Civill Rights movement in the US. The other recommendation is also about American history, it’s They Calked Us Enemy by George Takei. it’s about the treatment of Japanese Americans during WWII. On a lighter note, you’d love The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy, every page could be a framed print! Enjoy!!

Even though I often don't care for YA, I thought the Heartstopper series was very sweet. They contain many important topics for teens and a variety of sexual representations. I don't buy graphic novels very often as I find them expensive. Do you have a library you could borrow them from? That's where I got mine 🙂
