1:24 Interesting thought but the H145 has a pulling tail rotor. So they're not guards but stators which force the air in a defined direction, minimize vortex which would affect the drill of the air. Beside this, the stators increase the stiffness of the Fenestron and therefore the stability of the construction.

@jaysonayres49642 жыл бұрын
@@GRAPPAHOLICS Due to the sophistication/technology of the aircraft there are occasional "gremlins' that pop up. A reboot typically clears up any anomalies with the software...in terms of heavy maintenance I don't see anything over and above any other Helicopter in our fleet (S92/S76/AW139/B407).

@@GRAPPAHOLICS They were supposed to replace the OH-58 Kiowa scout missions but due to many encountered issues they use them mostly for MEDEVAC. I heard at one time they were even non deployable and only flew in CONUS.
@rynomite443010 ай бұрын
The maintenance heavy is all due to fh. Easy to work on in grand scheme. All about safety and effectiveness. If techs are smart they will do multiple fh checks at one time. Ex. 400fh do the 600fh check. If it is applicable and if the crew is certified :) that is the biggest cost of any a/c maintenance lol

The clip at the end of the video looks like a "shower of affection". They usually have the fire trucks spray the aircraft when that particular crew or pilot is retiring. How do the pilots like the new Airbus? I see the HH65's once in a while here in Detroit. They sound really cool.

The H145 would be great for the CG as a MH-65 replacement. It has superior flight hour costs, is already in the US inventory (UH-72B) already Manufactured in the USA. But I expect the USCG will co for a common fleet type and get more Jayhawks. The NAVY has more than 80 more MH-60 Romeo and Sierra's than it currently needs.

Perfect solution for uscg replacement helos would be AW189 to replace dolphin & S92 to replace jayhawk (s92 with external long range drop tanks would have impressive range) basically just get what uk coastguard use.

The AW189 cost nearly the same per flight hour as the H-60, and there is a world fleet of less than 100 vs 4000 H-60.

The 189 is heavier than the H-60 which means it can't be cutter deployable. Back when the Coast Guard was deciding through the Deep Water acquisition process the S-92 was considered, but ultimately dropped in favor of SLEP of the H-60 fleet.

There's four reasons why they would be spraying that helicopter with water like that one they're bringing back a dead service member tell somebody from the crew has gotten back from deployment from somewhere and they're giving them s welcome home 3 the helicopter is on its very last mission of flight for the United States armed forces for somebody in that crew is retiring and that was their final flight those are the only reasons and I can tell you after doing two tours in Iraq every time we set foot back down on land no matter what airport we were at or what base we landed on we had that same greeting. Welcome back job well done thanks for your service. The Chinook and the Blackhawks were mostly what we got to fly in for transport and missions.
