This is fantastic, especially the end note about using it as a strategy to set up upright throws.

Nice one, specially second option, I didn´t know if was right but I´m not excelent with fast doubles so that option works.

This is how i shoot a double in bjj rvr when i have their sleeve. My judo coach (also cross trains bjj) hates it cause he wants me to do the more traditional scooping morote gari with the head inside, but as long you have control over the arm and strong posture the guillotine risk is neglible.

A lot of people forget that old-school judo always had takedowns.

Very informative, thank you! I think is specially interesting the concept of 3 layers of defense. Could you talk more about that in the future, please?

Awesome shintaro, not my favourite takedown but well explained, I'm more of a throw kind of guy, but for a simple takedown I'm big fan of ouchi gake, using the legs more, maybe it's just the oldschool judo in me 😂

If your partner have trained Muay Thai for many years I would advise against this technique because of the knee reflex. I speak from experience. OSS

Do they still teach double leg takedowns in judo class? I know they don’t allow them anymore in competition but do they still teach it in class. (Sorry if it’s dumb question)

B3ast Alpha speed and keeping your forarms between your opponents thighs and your head while going in. Knees aren’t your worst problem because you control the hips. Worst case scenario is guillotine choke or elbows to your neck. Commit to the takedown, move fast and protect you head by keeping it close to your opponents flanks like he shows.
@Azurelightning054 жыл бұрын
honestly, Snatch the single. the double is predicated on baiting the opponent into a square posture through timing, speed, and feints. in situations such as that presented at 0:50 a single -> double would be more appropriate (open to correction of course )
@ncommerce4 жыл бұрын
@@Azurelightning05 This is correct
@lucasgarcia41934 жыл бұрын
You can set it up with punches and they might not be able to react. Also, if you put your hands on their thighs, you will get to the back of the knee slower, but you can block or parry the incoming knee. The problem is that they are more likely to scape, but at least you don't get kneed in the face. DISCLAMER: This is a non proven theory, I practice judo but I have never drilled double legs or done double legs.
