Ron, I've been using Grassello diCalce for years but never in my wildest dreams have I ever thought that I could have used it together with the linear trowel as I've always used it with travertine plasters or marmarino. Thanks for this upload and please keep the videos coming (lol).

Hi, thank you for sharing your Art and knowledge with us. Is there a reason why on the final coat of plaster application that you don't use the plastic trowel? Do the plastic trowels hold up for durability?

Can anyone advise if Renaissance Wax Polish is sufficient to use? The link below did not bring me to the Italian polishing wax.

I’m confused with the wax. Do you water down the bees wax.

Thank you for your videos sir !! You are a master. Quick question .. is it possible to add another layer of clear wax over this finish ?
@RonaldLayman4 жыл бұрын
Keith Sarty hi, yes you can apply an additional coat of wax. However, if you apply clear wax over a tinted wax it will remove some the tinted wax. If you decide to apply additional wax layers I would apply the wax by trowel and not a rag.

I’ll be posting a line of pigments for non lime based products in the website on Wednesday. 8 ounce plastic bottles prices range from 11-20 , price varies on color

Hi Ron, Extraordinary. As I am just learning about plasters, how thick is the final combined plaster layers? How durable is the final product.? Can it be cleaned periodically and if so , how and with what? And when you make your sample boards, what is your substrate, baltic birch ply? Great stuff, wish I lived closer I'd be signing up for your classes. From So Oregon. Thanks. Jeff

Can you use this technique in a shower? And if so would you finish with olive oil soap instead of wax to waterproof?
@RonaldLayman6 жыл бұрын
Fifi Gazepis as long as you use pure lime plaster that is rated for exterior use and yes the oil oil soap is perfect

Plaster is much stronger than drywall, so using this as a wall finish in my occasionally moving tiny house for example, it is superior and easy to fix if/when cracks develop. As an artist myself with decades of experience in the museum/film/visitors centre industry, plaster and texture is a no-brainer. LOVE what you did here :)
