This is the first time I've seen anyone convert a $100 garden planter into a boat. Great job!
@chipschleichardt56414 жыл бұрын
This is the right way to flip a boat. There's value in the hard work and expertise that goes into making it right for a buyer. A lot of flippers don't know anything about getting a boat right for a buyer, instead they lie and mislead people for a quick profit. A good example is, checking the lower unit, finding milky oil, putting in new oil and saying it's been freshly serviced, without fixing anything at all.

You sure spotted a diamond in the rough there. Well done on seeing through the leaves and ferns and spotting the potential in the old girl. I drive around and if I see a boat that looks like it hasn't been used in years, and if it interests me I knock and inquire. I just bought my 20ft Bullet w 225XS mercury! I’m now selling my 1 owner ME ,06 18ft Ranger w 150 Optimax it’s perfect, I bought it brand new it only has 30 hours on it! I’m asking 20k, it’s all ways been garaged! So their you go, this same package today cost 59k!
@ammoalamo64854 жыл бұрын
@@jimmycline4778 That $59k boat, and even the $20k boat, are the reasons why people are looking for a bargain watercraft. It is extremely difficult to justify paying the price of a new car for something that gets used 30 hours per year or less. A boat really does not appear to have that much cost of materials and labor built to justify the high price. Sure when you get into the fancy yacht-like cabin cruisers you pay for fine woodwork and joinery and design, but a bass boat, a ski boat, a party boat - they are very basic as far as not having any fine materials. Looking at Cragslist I see lots of boats here in North Texas. The prices are all over the map for fishing and family recreation boats like the ones this guy refurbishes.

I do this quite a bit. The way i go about it is: if i can buy a trailer for a fair price with a “boat and motor parts” on it, its worth a shot. One thing to note also is that many older motors are actually worth more on parts then selling it running. For example, many people would happily over pay for a good lower unit to keep their old motor going vs spending a few k on a new motor.
