there's actually not a lot of gravel repair videos out there. even if there were, there is always room for a good one like this . explaining your methodology about ripper set depth and making zigzag passes etc. is really helpful for armatuers like me who want to repair their gravel drive on the weekend and don't know the details that can only come from experience.

Old fencing folded over itself with weight applied,snag with a chain and drag ,cheap and effective.The more time in making the set up the longer it last .We use it on a 5 acre parking lot and it’s clean and free of weeds and grasses.

Any pics looking to build one. Thanks
@Toxic-Male3 ай бұрын
@@RobertCorso-h4s no pics , we used some 6’ high wire around 30 foot long , double over then double over again , insert draw pipe thru the folded end .Then run chain thru pipe log enough to bolt together a loop over draw hitch.Then chain on tires evenly over the spread .We have used the same one for over 6 years with minor repairs .

Thanks for the informative video. I'm thinking of getting into this kind of work, may u ask what you charge for a job like this?

The driveway looks good. attach a drag harrow to the back of the grader and it will make the driveway very smooth without any extra passes.

Really enjoyed your video, it was helpful, especially the part about weaving back and forth. I have not heard that one before. I started practicing on my driveway last weekend with the box blade. I may have missed it, but do tilt the box blade sideways at some point to put a crown on the driveway?

yeah i spent thousands to redo my gravel driveway put down this black weed blocker fabric ($700 roll) they said weeds won't come up with this type of gravel they said yeah, more weeds came up faster than ever before. the gravel must have come pre-seeded and i cannot use round up or anything like that due to having had cancer.

If you don't want to mess around with a separate microphone setup, thing you could try is splitting off the audio track post-production and run it through a tool like audacity and use noise canceling features from the software to get rid of the tractor noises. You can then use ffmpeg to remux the video with the fixed audio track. 👍🏼

Thank you for the awesome video, and greetings from Finland! My plan is to use a rear tine tiller to remove weeds from compacted gravel. I intend to turn the soil upside down, burying the weeds in the process. The area is approximately 150 square meters. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you for your comments and help!
@mithgo_outdoor Жыл бұрын
I suppose a tiller would work, but might prematurely wear the blades. In the long run, the weeds will always come back unless you stay ahead of them. When you’re done, I recommend spraying the driveway with a pre-emergent herbicide every 6-8 weeks. Then you’ll never have weeds.
