Documenting my first month with my new Aggressive Inline Skates! I ordered myself a pair of THEM 909s and I’m so glad I chose them. I ordered mine from BaysideBlades.com.au, the guys there helped me out with sizing via the live chat on their site and the parcel arrived within a few days!
As you can see, I have developed and learnt the fundamentals of rollerblading for the past year but aggressive skating opens up some more avenues to learn and explore on. Looking back now I think it would have been easier to learn on Aggressives compared to freestyle/recreational skates due to the lower height and sturdier boot, which can take more of a beating.
I hope you enjoy another video of me falling constantly with a few small (but worth it) wins along the way. So thanks for following me on this in-line skating journey and I appreciate the support.
I stopped wearing my helmet in this vid because it’s so old that brown water would drip out of the foam when I got real sweaty… but most of my sessions I would be wearing my GForm knee pads at a minimum.
Next I plan to learn: Backside Grinds, consistent soul grinds, stalling on coping, and 360s.
Also, this was my first time editing via Lumafusion on my new iPad so I’m still working it out, the sound levels are a bit quiet when played on phones :/

I found this video just about a week after I bought my aggressive inline skates, which are also my first inlines in this half of my life. I'm a medium experienced ice skater, so I expected the transition to rollerblading to be relatively easy, which was fortunately true. I have already tried skatepark, but after watching this video, I feel like i should do better. Thanks for motivating me, I'll get skating as soon as I can.

This is awesome! I'm going to get my first pair of aggressive skates on Christmas this year, so this is getting me pumped for the day I can use em. However, I can say with experience after rollerblading normally for years now that you SERIOUSLY should invest in some protective gear. Even just a helmet could protect you from seriously hurting yourself. Thanks for the cool vid!

Yeah brø! Wellcome to blading fam! O would get helmet also...because balancing backwards just sometimes happen...you don't want to knock your head hard on concrete etc.

Impressive progress! Also quite brave practicing on concrete. Just started agressive skating myself after couple years of urban skating. I've made a simple practice rail that I can place on grass perpendicular on the road. No fear of falling and no hard slams.

@@erichopham dont wait. My son is 5 y.o and he wants to ride aggressive skates only. He can do soul and makio grinds, jump in to the rump is not an issue for him at all. Kids are learning very fast.

U should try putting on anti rockers. Anti rockers does so your wheels dont stop when you are grinding. I really recommend:)

Just getting back into aggressive inline skating after 20 years (at least). You're doing great! What wrist guards are thise you're using? They look comfy instead of the bulky ones i have. Fitment seems great. Keep going dude!

Nice progres. By the way, it is good to practice both sides, left and right. In slides, grinds, ramp and so on. It should be useful to prevent using only 1 working side.

Yeah it’ll open up so many more aspects of skating. But its just as scary as trying a grind for the first time

on the blue ledge where you kept falling backwards it seemed like the little extra height it had kept your from landing on top if your knees rather than behind them… or verbalised differently: you didnt jump high enough and compensated by pullig your feet up unto the ledge rather than dropping 'onto it' from above… Hope this helps.

AWESOME!!! Your skating has progressed immensly. And the THEM 909's are one of the best skates on market. The frames are spaced really well for people who want to ride 4 wheels flat (not anti-rocker where the middle 2 wheels are smaller) and still have a wide h-block for grinds. Also the backslide groove notch is great for royales and other boot tricks. I think you even got the newest version 2 THEM soul plates so there is a wider grinding surface on your outside soul plate edge by the heels. There is also a grind called "Mizu" thats good for beginners. I remember it was easier for me than soul grinds at first. If you wanna learn anything, there is a fellow AUS KZbinr that I have watched for many years now who built his channel into one of the premier YT blading channels for all things blading. He has earlier trick tutorials and things. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWHJoq2clNmIY9E. Keep being you!

Try learning the 'Pornstar' grind (yeah, thats the name) You prerry much sit on one skate. I find it pretty easy, comfortable and a MUCH better position to be in if you fall off the rail/Ledge! You often just sit down comfortably on a Ledge! Also I always found knee high ledges to be the least scary thing to grind. You don't have to jump up or squat down, and It's less scary to commit to leaning over when there's dirt and bushes right there at waist level. Good luck out there man!

It is funny how it feels when dropping down vs how lame it looks when you see your self 😂. It is very scary when you are actually doing it.

Where the hell is your helmet? This is silly watching someone so new to the sport in the skate park without a helmet. It only takes one mistake and youre not skating, and possibly worse, for awhile.
