I was really into a video from 10-1-1994 from Boston Garden…listened to it twice and realized how amazing that show was and I’ve just heard it for the first time! Killer show, which I was sadly unable to attend. Very cool energy front to back, with my personal fav Dark Star from around this time. DS was played at least one other time on this tour. Caught my first Brent shows in the coming Spring, then a bunch of absolutely hot east coast shows Sept & Oct 79. That fall they were clearly pumped, with Brent getting the songs down, and leaning way into the musical mix. Miss the shows. It was the best of times...

A sleeper Dark Star, much better than the previous (Winterland 12/31/78) and in fact the best of them between Winterland 10/18/74 and Hampton 10/9/89, and probably the best show of this strange 12-date tour of make-ups and fill ins, Keith and Donna's second to last. Springfield 1/15/79 is another contender. Live Dead forever (with a little help from our friend).

Listen to all Dark Star in that space of time to evaluate. Because some have an added sentimental value that weighs

@@eletricnaneland352 Certainly the one at the Greek in 84 has "sentimental value" and lots else, but there are only five Dark Stars between Winterland 10/18/74 and Hampton -- namely, Winterland 12/31/78, this one, Buffalo 1/20/79, Oakland Aud 12/31/81 (at the request of Joan Baez), and the Greek Friday 7/13/84 -- so, not a lot to review.
