"From Bob's first solo record, Ace, Black-Throated Wind was consistently in the setlist 1972-1974, but disappeared when the Dead returned after the hiatus in 1976. Thankfully, on 3/16/90 at the Capital Center in Landover, MD, this Weir-Barlow classic returned, and was right through the final tour in 1995." - David Lemieux

Hey David! Buckeye Lake 93 is an incredible 90’s show with one of the best foolish heart jams and Eyes of the worlds for that period in my opinion. A stellar performance by the band that evening. I’m sure you have heard it all but please give that show a listen. I would love a remastered video or cd of that night! I’m sure the 100k people that were at that show would as well. Thanks friend for sharing the music!

I was at one of these in DC, we came from jersey, I lost the friend I was with , couldn’t find him and left him there 😂and went back home without him! I tripping out, and got paranoid after the show when the crowd was thinning out and wanted to get out of there , there was a ton of cops ! No cell phones! Needless to say I don’t remember how I drove home by myself and I don’t remember how he got home but he was pissed ! It was a couple of months b4 we talked again! Sorry mike if you read this!

Bringing me down I'm running aground Blind in the light of the interstate cars Passing me by The buses and semis Plunging like stones from a slingshot on Mars But I'm here by the road Bound to the load That I picked up in ten thousand cafes and bars Alone with the rush of the drivers who won't pick me up The highway, the moon, the clouds, and the stars The black-throated wind keeps on pouring in With its words of a life where nothing is new Ah, Mother American Night, I'm lost from the light Oh, I'm drowning in you I left St. Louis, the City of Blues In the midst of a storm I'd rather forget I tried to pretend it came to an end 'Cause you weren't the woman I thought I once met But I can't deny that times have gone by When I never had doubts or thoughts of regret And I was a man when all this began Who wouldn't think twice about being there yet The black-throated wind keeps on pouring in And it speaks of a life that passes like dew It's forced me to see that you've done better by me Better by me than I've done by you What's to be found, racing around You carry your pain wherever you go Full of the blues and trying to lose You ain't gonna learn what you don't want to know So I give you my eyes, and all of their lies Please help them to learn as well as to see Capture a glance and make it a dance Of looking at you looking at me The black-throated wind keeps on pouring in With its words of a lie that could almost be true Ah, Mother American Night, here comes the light I'm turning around, that's what I'm gonna do Goin' back home that's what I'm gonna do Turnin' around That's what I'm gonna do 'Cause you've done better by me Than I've done by you

Congratulations on your win. Apparently I might have throat cancer, and that is why when they tackled me, strapped me down and tranquilized me 6 months ago- my voice was also completely gone for three days. Too bad they could have caught it then but oh well. I can never fly into the big city ever again. See after I tried to move to a number of different affordable countries, LAX, JFK, and Seatac- they drugged me for flying into Billings for a doctors appointment but then I got stranded at the airport overnight and after the police took me to the homeless shelter, they then took me to the ER for saying, "I'm not homeless" over and over again. I was homeless for years before I moved to Montana and bought my own house you know. God is so great to me, isn't it? But yes, you get the last laugh. And the best medical care in the world at the time unlike my house that I just huffed radon in the last 4 months because the mitigation system was frozen. I also broke my right hand when they refused me water then slammed a big metal door in my face, and it healed wrong they tell me at the clinic in the next town 50 miles away. I tried to get seen at this clinic when I finally admitted to myself it was broken and got over my fear of them seizing and drugging me- but they said they couldn't see me for month and a half so I taped it up with a Sam splint. But that's certainly obe way to make a person's worst nightmares come true as well as deny any medical assistance for anything. I do hope this nightmare and your curse, your jinx, your hex upon my life ends soon. Thanks again to Jerry and Vince for staring so hard and stalking me right before God started talking to me!!! What a long strange trip its been!

It's a great, great, song....on Ace! This is all a bit strained. Poor old Vince....why did they ever hire him? He seems like a spare part at a wedding. A book I recently read claimed he was turned away from a reunion in 2002, hastening his depression. Hope someone explained their reasoning to him personally. Very sad.
