I was driving up the I-5 from San Deigo as this concert took place, heading home to the Bay. There were 7 RAINBOWS one over another , over the whole San Jouquin Valley that day.............thanks for posting these videos, so I can see what I didn't get to see !

I have never seen so many people in one place at once. It was pretty impressive. It was a great day of music that I'll never forget.

I was there, and it was tragic and fabulous at the same time. For those of you who want a pretty mix, go buy something on Itunes! This was a real concert of friends and family coming together to send on someone we knew and loved. Its a beloved moment in time. The rest of you. . . shine it on! Wish someone had Robin Williams routine. I loved his line about Bill being in heaven and telling god how to adjust the colors of the sunset. "NO! you gotta turn up the magenta on that!"

Oh my god, what a WONDERFUL version of this Dylan song! Young´s voice and Garcia's guitar playing, what a symbiosis!

this song brings to many memories how 10 years pass by GOD... I have kept something hidden for so long now that even at my worst of times still hold that piece of my past intact so much that one day when I die it will be in the will and it will be given still to his children... because I know how much a heart weights so thanks GOD For ever YOUNG!

Lots of great music that day celebrating the life of Bill Graham. I remember being in the crowd listening to the music from the stage and the simulcast which I am pretty sure was on KFog. I hope that is still a rock and roll station.

I was lucky enough to be there for this -- not the best performance ever, but WAY COOL just to see Neil play with the Dead. I saw Neil do the same song TWICE the night before at the Bridge Benefit at Shoreline. One of them was with Nicolette Larson :)

A note to any/all who are ragging on the rough spots in the 11/3/91 recordings: this free show in Golden Gate Park was organized on very short notice to pay tribute to Bill Graham, who had died suddenly in a helicopter crash. Nobody has rehearsed!! The event was special because it was an extended community coming together spontaneously for purely human needs, not show biz.

It's so beautiful to hear (and see) this But at the same time, it's near to heartbreaking to hear a song that Bob Dylan wrote as a blessing for his young children used as a valedictory for a life cut short

If there were another band besides The Band that could be a backing band to Dylan it would(was in 87 )be The Grateful Dead.

@tpo1956 Jerry's not exactly on here. Neil Sounds okay, its a nice change to hear the Grateful Dead playing with Neil singing.
@mase570114 жыл бұрын
@retsinred Jerry's guitar is only awesome only because it always is no matter what. Its a little too weak in sporadic in my opinion, but its still sweet to hear Neil Young singing my favorite JGB song ever!

This whole concert was a big disappointment. This marks to me when the Grateful Dead started to- sadly- go downhill. 1990 was really their last great year. 1991 was OK, and everything from 1992 onward was simply substandard, IMO. The death of Brent had a far greater impact than any at the time imagined.
@allanfifield8256 Жыл бұрын
1991 was the last good year. They were already scheduled to play New Years 1991-1992. They should have hung it up after that. 92-93-94-95 Just a long drawn out crash landing.

@MrZacharacamyison Awesome comment!!!!! This video IS fake and gay- the cuts to the crowd are fucking twisted. It scares me.

This song would have been better without Neil Young cutting off Jerry's Solo, or if without neil young at all. He sucks.

not liking the drummer (s) on this song- rhythm doesnt fit well with the rest of the instrumentation.
