And it's the same old story. If Phil's on, the bands on. Phil's power is such a large factor in all the music. That guy is a Master. I love Bob's rhythm nuances too. Their all Masters at their art.

I went into this show barefoot. Went around the floor saying to everyone, "The earth longs to feel your feet, the winds long to play with your hair! (kahil gibran)" This was the last show for our dearly departed JFK. It was an awesome way to go out - dancing barefoot with the Grateful Dead. I miss them terribly.

This was amazing and tbh I cherish those years ….I was on from 80-95 and …well yeah. And sometimes…sometimes … D&C is “there” the way it was back then but not all the time for me. Can’t look at JM but Bobby and Micky and Bill connect me to “it”. Was at PL&F recently and wow ..being in the same space as PL and the “thing” was there and yeah just beautiful thank God.

This was the last tour with Jerry playing Tiger, and he played that beast like a m'f'er! This song wouldn't be the same when he started using the MIDI. Seeing and hearing videos like this makes me wish I'd gone to more shows back in the day. BTW, I wonder what Jerry was saying to Brent when he came over at about 0:15; he had a little smile going.

Once I was walking along the trail down by the river and saw this young lady picking lupines. This might have been fine under other circumstances but being a botanist and knowing it was the only lupine plant for quite some distance- the rest of it being weeds mostly and non-natives- I told her to not pick the wildflowers and leave it for other people too. She looked at me with spite in her eyes for even having the nerve to tell her what to do and said, "Just because you said that I'm picking all of them!" And proceeded to pick every last flower that poor plant had. Every one of them.

Easily debatable. (Not the sneakers part.) I'd say '78 was their height. But every year, they propelled themselves higher and higher. That year was like being with them on a mountain, one with a fire sometimes burning. Some years had bigger peaks than others.

One day I was up on Stevens after God had started talking to me-very few days did I see, but that day it was fresh powder, but they hadn't quite gotten all the lifts running yet. Everyone was running around trying to get some powder, and it was all tracked, so I started hiking the ridge. I looked behind me and there was a guy who was following me. I thought, "I'm not going to let him get first tracks," and just hiked harder up the hill with my board in hand. But the guy kept gaining on me, and on the drop in to the bowl we were headed I recognized him. It was another guy who has been sponsored by the exact same board shop as me in Seattle, at least before his arm had been shattered (by Mission Ridge) and my life had been taken from me by God aka mental illness. We laughed and enjoyed the ride down together, knowing each other. But otherwise I still would have wanted to beat him and him me and neither content.

The trees here are still naked. Like skeletons whose arms are all broken or bent. The soil full of as much clay as my parents soil was sand, but its a clay full of uranium and radioactive particles. Hard for a potter to get into despite my initial hopes. But we'll see how watering a place that has drainage issues goes after I plant things that need irrigation and the oncoming grasshopper plague...

My psychotic Indian neighbor told me not to look at her again during midday today- when I was on the back of my lot and turned the corner of my garage and really couldn't look at anything else. I just glanced their way. So I wasn't hallucinating the other night when I thought I heard the same combative, "What are you looking at?" out of the darkness. Good to know?? I subsequently sung her a song about how I had the right to sing and dance- without her permission because it was my property and free country. I don't think she heard me, and was not impressed.

But you don't have a key, do you? And if you don't know nothing, then everything looks like about 5 species, though there could be 150. Though there is a large proportion of high elevations in the United States that are protected from grazing and timber production, its actually the lower elevations who always produced more (since they didn't have a mountain of snow upon them and were limited by such) and are not only at the most grievous danger, but they play a greater role. Which is more important? A plant that photosynthesizes 3 out of 12 months or a plant who photosynthesizes 6 months or more? I know that higher elevations are certainly purdier to you than sagebrush, but don't kill everyone and the whole planet over your love of beauty and superficiality. Saving Mt. Rainier is not quite enough. Saving the sagebrush (NOT BURNING IT) is. But you don't love sagebrush as much as say, a Grizzly Bear, is this correct?

When I thought the Grateful Dead were following me, before God showed up and impersonated Bob in 1993 when quiet gold Mercedes and keyboardists whose hair products shone under streetlights still haunted my skateboarding route through town, I thought I overheard Bob say, "Maybe we should kill her before she is famous." Like mentally overheard him talking to someone else, long distance telepathic powers type of shit. For a long time I thought I just hallucinated that or God made it all up. That God lied to me, like it does others who are not so peaceful. But Bob today, he still say, "Kill them before they grow."
