Anytime these cats did revolution was great ,the first one in the garden in '83 was one of the coolest man jerry knew a total of 8 words and that id what made it that cool and of course the band was on fire in the fall of '83.

There are two bands that had a profound effect our culture, the Beatles and the Grateful dead. When the Dead cover the Beatles, it's my favorite band covering my favorite band.

Truly they were. Even their worst years are still good. Just nothing compared to their best, but always good.

gotta say, they werent so hot in 95. Worst show I ever went to, Albany. Jerry was having a very bad night. We didnt even stay to the end. More fun out in the parking lot than in that show. Feel bad saying it but its true. Nobody is perfect. Never got the chance to go see if it got better since Jerry finally managed to do himself in. Sad sad day. My elderly father called to tell me. Even he was hearbroken knowing how much he meant to all 6 of us kids.

First off, Furthur is pretty damned good and as close to GD as we can get right now. Second, he's right (I personally wouldn't use the word awful) Garcia does not sound very good here and his health very possibly had something to do with it. I still love it because it's the mistakes that make the brilliance really shine. Also, I personally have never felt 85 was a very good year for the band. Much more a fan of 70-81 and 87-91 myself. Oh well, we all have our own favorite eras. Cheers.

This is still pretty freaking cool , is there a chance you might have the first one from the garden in'83 ? Again the 1st go round of this was outta sight , both show's in the garden in the fall of '82 were way , way off the chart.

What are you talking about? I gotta tell ya man it might be a good idea to start listening to sum other music like furthur or something. This is classic Grateful Dead.

Not surprised he sounds kinda awful here: just a bit more than a year before the diabetic coma.
