but in fact sometimes when he looked hard offstage it was at Parish who he laid the craziest, coolest trip riff on. imagine being Parish. Who gets a Parish but God. look at the word GOD. Make the G red, the O the cental head of the stealie and bolt and D Blue. I realize where Owsley got it am just sayin

This is a running thing between them on fantasy. I think they did this to sync their singing and to ensure they were both singing the correct verses. You can see then do this on almost all fantasy. Now I feel like a dick for bursting your bubble. Sorry, but it's great fun to go and watch the different versions and see for yourself.

Listening to this on my ipod right now. Came searching for it here. I was on the rail right in front of Jerry for this show, as I was for about 200 shows. This was the best China/Rider on this tour and probably the best one of the year. The end of looks like rain made me loose my mind at the the time in a good way. Holy crap! Can't help but cry every time I hear them crush a show like this. Miss you Jer!

I never knew who Brent was growing up, all I was told was I had a cousin who was played in a rock and roll band. Brent was my 2nd cousin from his mother's side. I did have a family of cousins who visited with Brent and his mother in CA. from central Ohio thru the years. Brent sent tickets and backstage passes to my cousin to see the band play in Cincinnati. Brent told her to guard those backstage passes because the deadheads will try to take them from her. She invited Brent's sister to come with her to the concert. They had a heck of a time getting in. The guards were very difficult but when they opened the door there was Brent to greet them. Brent told his sister and cousin they could talk to anybody they wanted to talk to except Jerry Garcia. He liked to be left alone. Brent introduced them to all the band members. Before the band started playing he placed his sister and cousin to the back of him on stage. They got to watch Brent perform on stage all night they played. What an experience she had, to go to your first concert and to sit and watch your cousin perform on stage.

@@jironthunder7519 He was born to sit in that seat...Brent fit perfect in the band at the time he came in but that was because he was different and completely original, imo.....and he created a spot in the band that only he deserved. Total package, singer and musician, Brent was a beast! I never minded Vince's playing...but his voice, for me, was hard to listen to alot....Brent was the best singer in the band...

I was at this show with my my military friend PAUL P. He was a former 82nd Airborne cat. Myself a former 27th Combat Support Group dude. My 3rd show and his 1st show, an unforgettable concert experience for both of us. The drive to the show was a blast and the trip back was great ~ especially when his 82nd Airborne tattoo and my prior military rank got the approval and respect of a VERY COOL Centerville Ohio policeman. He could have hauled us both to jail ~ BUT HE LOOKED THE OTHER WAY AND TOLD US TO GET THE HECK OUGHTA TOWN AND DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN. We were rowdy dudes .... and thanks to that super cool cop we got set free!

My 1st was the first US Festival in '82 and it was Breakfast with the Dead as they opened for the 3rd day and Fleetwood Mac closed it all with a solo version of "Song Bird" by Christie on her grand piano. After the show 2" of lake snow on the ground i'm in shorts and sandals. Polish your mouth off with a Molson. What a show. Had to be there as they say. Was classic. This whole spring tour was hot in so many moments. Pittsburgh Blow Away hot. Was a great run of old Dead haunts that had not seen the band in years.

Yeah i remember. Where I parked Suzie’s jeep, there was no place. I met eyes with this dude , he moved peoples shit , I put it in 4 wheel drive and drove right over the curbs between trees and lawn right into our spot. That dudes name was , Kevin. We all walked the entire parking lot, he had just gotten out from being in prison 10 years for selling an undercover three doses in the 70’s , Cincinnati was his first show since back in the Keith & Donna days. I hadn’t tripped since March 23rd , 86 in Philly I lost my mind and had an undercover try to buy three hits off me in the middle of the night. About 100 Hells Angels were parked right along beside my tent and all hanging out where I was really really gone. They saved my ass from 10 years that night!! Kevin got a vile of liquid and dosed a rolling paper so wet it was tripping all down my arm. Yep no bad shit happened in Cincinnati. It followed us to Louisville then up to Chicago for three nights. That was when I decided no more for me. Last time I ever see Jerry or Brent alive, sadly. See Bobby in Hampton Beach in 2009 , almost like he remembered me too , small crowd really. Couple hundred people. Bobby will outlive us all!!

Just one of those great shows where they don't necessarily blow your mind, but superior musicianship, technical detail and sophisticated artistry keep you absorbed from beginning to end. I always wondered whether these really precise, workmanlike shows were the result of them being more sober than usual on stage or were the result of them utilizing exotic designer "smart drugs". There were some really unusual "high IQ" tryptamines circulating around this period.

A really good neurologist told me about this remarkable book by Terrance. read them all to find it. qualities could be entirely redimensioned by trying. They are used to heal the brain so imagine if the brain is already really good. Those types of drugs are doctor provided only in certain circumstances. The world should so hope to increase their IQ collectively. We don't use much of our brain. They call it junk brain. Its just not used brain. These guys used their brains really well. They are extremely smart and wise men and they cant hardly help themselves from having a perfect night. And this show blew my mind. sure it did. this is excellent. primo grateful dead. Just because so much of it is perfect that we get spoiled doesn't mean this isn't a perfect night. this is an incredible show. out of space through the encore... dude, its magic is what it is
