And BTW, for me the Portland '74 jam out of Truckin' is on the very very top tier of best shit the boys ever played. EDIT: that's track 3 here, dig it

They're some cool cats playing here. 00:03:41 I love Jerry for his ideas. He always finds these little nuggets and plays around for a bit. Awesome!! Also here 00:05:33 Here also Bob joins in a bit while Phil keeps the groove. 00:08:28 The drumming is on point. Really good explorations! The vibe is very unique. Most bands would just explode: But the boys are just in their beloved elements! 00:15:38 High energy! Why? They just had a great "Truckin!" before this Jam. And after that Bill just keeps drumming on like a maniac. And everybody was like: Fine, lets jam like hell! Many wow-moments are following. I love how they flirt with incredible intensity with so many layers and never lose their cool! And it's getting better and better because they all want more! Very surprising and groovy! Literally everbody has genius moments! This is full Greatful Dead Creative Power! I would've lost my s**t If I had experienced that personally. Unbelievable! My favorite so far. 00:21:48 And what grows out of that jam is just even more mindblowing haha! The sound & timing is just face-stealing awesomeness. The drumming alone is kicking it so good. 00:24:50 I love these nuggets hahaha 00:35:00 What grows out of that is one of the most epic Spanish Jams ever. Spectacular! Stellar! Devine! Very serious stuff. I've met this jam before in a very intense trip. Breathtaking to say the least. It turns you into light and diamonds as Wavy Gravy would say. Makes you wonder how this is all possible from the start of the universe to now until the end of time. I love how after the beauty comes insanity. Ha! 00:50:40 Very fine. 50 Seconds later Jerry has an incredible breathtaking melodic run. He is running over stardust. Fragile, human, beautiful. 00:55:44 Best riff Bob ever played. 00:59:08 And again! Mr. Jerry finds a golden nugget! 01:01:07 Super Hive Mind activity. Fine Art! Super dreamy. 01:14:55 Prime example how alive the music of GD can be. Incredible stuff. Fearlessly played. Jerry is totally on fire. What a musician! 01:20:35 Listen to that groove on the drums. Slick! 01:22:10 Wow, what is that? Almost beyond music. So pure and innocent. Jerry is a musical magician.

ahh youngsters allways bemuse me . but with a world wide web why wouldnt they be pronounced . there is no thought of demons in this music . this music comes from a time of Peace n Love . the only way a demon would be mentioned in this scene , would be the phrase , They played the devil out of those instruments. the devil sucks . ☮

What can you tell me about the artwork? I see the red devil figure and the...other figure. The distorting and warping of the images got inexplicably heavy for me. What are we looking at here?
@LostMyDayJob2 жыл бұрын
Hey Hubert! The image itself is the "cover art" from John's blog post for this mix. He often (but not always) includes artwork attribution on his post, you can check that post out via the link in the description. As for the warp/distortion effects and the other graphics, that's just me having fun 😂. I hope it didn't get too dark on ya lol.
@hubertsumlin96972 жыл бұрын
@@LostMyDayJob not too dark! I flashed on a kind of methodical repudiation of the devil, or evil and malice itself. Symbolism, what a rabbit hole.
