I really should listen to all of 81 and look for these gems.

A lot of this sounds like just Billy, swingin his ass off like he could only do when Mickey wasn’t in the room.

Interesting factoid, this was supposed to be the second night of a three-night run at Red Rocks, but it had to be moved to McNichol at the last minute due to heavy rain. The lack of improvement in the weather forced them to have to play at McNichol again the following night. The storm itself was devastating for Denver and the surrounding areas, with multiple road closures and washouts.

I got this DVD too as soon as it was released.. Still have it in a box somewhere.. Mutual love and respect between Bruce & the GD... Jerry really brought his "A" game to contribute to this live performance and the CD that was made as well.. I always wondered what it would have been like to be at this show..... They did a lot of editing of Jerry but when his volume is turned up he is spot on... I am sure he was the whole time... Shawn Colvin one of my favorites as I headed toward my mid 20's in 1989. She was great to see live back then too... Bruce Hornsby is one of the greatest of all time and a Virginia boy just like myself.... God Bless Him and his family... THANK YOU BRUCE !!!

The only thing better than 89 was Brent 90. They just kept getting better until 7/23/90. Everything after that was just 🙄.

@@staggerlee4979 yeah I’d definitely agree with that, was 2nd row between jerry & Bobby at that last Brent show, he seemed possessed during good time blues (never trust a woman)
