I find it interesting that Junior's name was Robert Glenn, while Fireball's was Glenn Roberts. The only other engine builder in the dame level as Junior was Smokey Yunick. He'd be a good one to do!

A friend of mine goes to Wilkesboro for his job, and while eating at one of the restaurants there met a local man and they talked while eating. My buddy mentioned Jr. to him and what he was told really surprised him, if it's true the local said it, only thirteen people showed up for Junior's funeral because in that area the way he split with Flossie is not accepted widely in their culture. I was a fan of Junior myself.

I saw the '73 film Last American Hero a few times, great movie. Can't go wrong with Jeff Bridges, Junior Johnson's story was a super cool one. Thank you for this high-octane video B.R., much respect from AZ 👍🏽😎👍🏽

Flossie Johnson is also buried there. I have her cookbook, and it's one that I use quite often. I did not know that Junior was pardoned by Regan...had not heard about that. I live a little over an hour north of where you are, just across the Virginia line. You pronounced Rhonda correctly, but not Appalachia. A lot of folks get that one wrong unless they have lived here or have family here. Think of it like this...I threw an apple at 'cha. Apple at cha. Appalachia. Enjoyed the video! Have a great week and God bless!

His mother was a cousin of my mother. Family members have often said his mother went to jail in his place for boot legging. Don’t know just family tales through the years. 😢

I wonder why they were not buried in Moore or Roebuck. When I saw them it was always there nearby their houses.
