I wish this was how I planned it, but I'm a bit behind on video production. Love summer though. It's great time to ride and hike.

Great video John...great scenery! What a great trail ! You did such a good job capturing the beauty of Southern New England ! Well done!

@thepeacerunners I put a lot of effort into the editing process. That's why I don't crank one out out every week. Thanks for noticing.

@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA Same...I actually don't like the filming...but love the editing...you also do a great job with narrating and the info you provide...I do silent films and have never spoken on camera...im too dumb for that..lol...so you have so much involved that your dealing with and you do a great job with it all.

@thepeacerunners I actually don’t like the way I sound on video. 😂 I want to provide informative and entertaining videos and that means I need to narrate to add information. I also add maps and location labels. The biggest time-consuming part of the process is balancing the audio levels. Not my favorite part.

@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA you sound fine. You do a great job...I know how much work it is and I appreciate you and what you do...keep up the good work

@justramblinaround, you guys are really very kind! The thumbnail was an experiment. I was wondering if it was too dark. Ian was a good sport, I felt bad when I was editing this. We’re doing another ride this weekend. I’ll see if he is still talking to me. 😂

Looks like a great ride. It was in the 90's here today so seeing fall scenery and changing leaves reminded me of cooler weather. Have you ever done a video about gear you carry while biking? My husband and I did some biking while at the beach and had a bit of a tricky situation where my tire lost air and we were far from home with no pump. Another kind biker stopped to help me, but it got me thinking about what gear I should carry. At minimum, I think I need a small air pump?
@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA7 ай бұрын
@hikingoutoorfamily, I have done some videos on bikepacking gear, which includes the essential for everyday cycling. REI has a list on their website. www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/basic-cycling-checklist.html. The basics would be a small pump you can attach to your bike, a spare tube, tire levers, patch kit and a multi tool. Water bottle, helmets, front and rear lighting to ensure you are seen by cars in the daylight. Most casual rider I see at the campground don't even have their tires inflated properly. This is the number one cause for a flat.

@@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA Thank you! That REI list was helpful. I do always wear my helmet. I'm going to get a patch kit, multi tool and the pump to start with. I do not want to run into this situation again.
@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA7 ай бұрын
@@hikingoutdoorfamily Spare tube and The patch kit won't do you any good if you can't get the tire off the rim. If all of the family has the same size tires you can by one set of everything the for the family to get started.

What month was that, fall? Looks like you guys had a good time 👍

Yes it was late October. I'm still working on a backlog of videos. This is a great trail, but it has some less than ideal sections. It's totally different than the Farmington Canal Greenway. It's much more rural.
