I use gravelmap.com to find most of my routes, here is the page for this one: gravelmap.com/map/route/97342-four-notch -- lots of treecover here, so not a bad idea for summer!

Yes, it was my first major gravel ride too, just remember to turn back when you've used half your water, and go slow if it's too bumpy -- the fast sections irritated my wrists. Pros: * Several loops, so very adjustable * Lots of tree cover, beautiful scenery * Close to Houston * Variety of gravel: embedded, loose, and dirt * Well-defined parking area Cons: * Some bumpy downhills * Water only at opposite end
