That looks epic but too hard for me now. I remember walking from Spittal of Glenshee to the field centre at Kindrogan via Ben Earb back in the '60's. Would love to do it on a mountain bike.

I'd wondered how rideable that route was a few times when looking at mapping up stuff, so nice to have your scouting of it. Cheers (y)

Having now dabbled a bit with a GoPro on our rides, I appreciate exactly how good your footage is. Mine mainly consist of path and no scenery or sky and no scenery. Keep up the good work

Me and a mate did this exact route yesterday and gotta say it's defo not a typical gravel route .if you're not going up you're descending only to have to stop at one of the what seems like thousands of gates and styles...can't get any speed going...can't say I enjoyed it...definitely need to be a strong rider to do it in 1 ride..

Agreed. It's tough.

Fantastic route, I was in the area last summer but missed this! Have you tried Gaick Pass between Pitlochry and Aviemore? A beautiful gravel route.

Cheater!! I kid...I'm going to walk this trail in parts this year. Did the alyth to blairgowrie trail that you skipped earlier this year but am I hell retracing blairgowrie to bridge of Cally as it suggests. Thanks for the insight on what's ahead and good luck with the channel.

Was it the Bikepacking Scotland route you followed?
@RustyRidesGravel2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think it was, linked out from the www.pkct.org/cateran-trail website. I didn't really edit any of the route except where I was diverted.

Which direction would you advise? Clock or anti-clockwise?
@RustyRidesGravel2 жыл бұрын
I'd say that it's pretty similar either way really. It all comes down to which way you want to do the hill at the Spittal of Glenshee. There I would say anticlockwise has a better descent but the climb will be difficult. Other than that I don't think it matters.

@@RustyRidesGravel cheers. Thinking of doing the route on the longest day.
