Not sure why it is so satisfying to see a bike being put together by someone who knows what they're doing and who has the right tools for the job. Thanks for the video.

I get a kick out of seeing someone build a bike who really knows what they're doing, and takes the time to tell what they're doing and the important details. Thanks. You're lucky to have such a talented mechanic nearby!

The way the brake hoses are installed is very well explained, nice work!

I learned so much in the video so OBVIOUSLY I'll be watching it again...and again...and well...you get it! Great post as per usual.

Pete did a great job explaining everything. Now if we regular people could get the components so that we could do our builds. Sram is marketing this eTap AXS but no one seems to be able to get them.

Very nice. I just got the Rival Etap put on my bike and it has been terrible so far. It doesn’t like to shift into the high gears and the chain falls off it I shift into the small front ring. And it cost 1400.00!

Sounds like it isn't setup properly, not the fault of the drivetrain, rather the mechanic.

Are hydraulic brakes worth the $$? I'm running mechanical trp brakes now and am thinking about upgrading to 12 speed eagle, so this would be a good time to upgrade to hydraulic if it makes sense

How much does it weigh? As much as I like the rival axs, it's heavy.

Aside question- could you use an 11-42 rear cassette for this setup? Perhaps with Wolf Tooth road link?
@GravelCyclist3 жыл бұрын
Hello Matt, I have never tried anything larger than 10-36 with this setup, but based on prior experience with the Road Link, it may work? I'm more interested to know what 11-42 12-speed cassette you have there?
@morty4123 жыл бұрын
@@GravelCyclist ha! I was thinking it was 11 speed. I am no mechanic. I just like low gearing😎

Didn't you have a problem with that special spacer? If I set my preload on the steerer like I would it is to loose for that spacer (it doesn't always move with the steerer tube), now I preload tighter than it should. Ribble made a very bad design in that spacer, there should've been a notch in the steerertube that slots in so it would always turn when the steerertube turns!
@GravelCyclist3 жыл бұрын
No issues with the special c-spaced spacer, except for the top cap that sits above it, which is a little too weighty, IMHO.
@lloydberry2733 жыл бұрын
I agree on that. I have a Ribble CGR SL old model and the moving headset spacer drives me mad. Poor design and very heavy.

Where is your shop located?
@GravelCyclist Жыл бұрын
The shop who built the bike in the video, Brickyard Bike Co., Phenix City, Alabama, just across the river from Columbus, Georgia. Links in the video description.

Was this meant to be a mechanic tutorial?
@GravelCyclist3 жыл бұрын
No. Some people enjoy seeing how a bike is built from a box of parts.
@leefitler45973 жыл бұрын
@@GravelCyclist i mean I don’t think this required the mechanic to “man-splain” the process.
@GravelCyclist3 жыл бұрын
I'd like to understand this comment better. The mechanic wasn't supposed to keep the audience informed of what was happening?
@leefitler45973 жыл бұрын
The information is in what the mechanic was doing - I just found him to be talking/explaining too much.
@iamtorax3 жыл бұрын
@@leefitler4597 I like the mechanic's narration. It's good information. There are plenty of build videos with mood music and lighting. I find this to be a nice departure from that type.
