Needle Felting POKÉMON SQUISHMALLOWS!

Today I'm going to be needle felting some of my top favorite Pokémon squishmallows including Pikachu, Gengar, Piplup, and Slowpoke. This isn't my first time needle felting, I've done it a handful of times, but I'm still a beginner. This time around I didn't need to use a needle felting kit, but this video isn't exactly a needle felt tutorial, hopefully you can still get an idea of how to needle felt by watching it though! I like customizing things and turning them EVIL, it's kind of my thing. In fact I have quite a few series where I do some cheap diys that end up looking pretty chaotic. Tip for future dressing up squishmallows, you can get iron on hemming tape and use that to fuse fabric together instead of hot glue. I used it a lot as i don't like sewing either (mainly because I can't sew a straight line to save my life) There is also this stuff called heat bond that can be cut out, and ironed on to one side then remove the backing and iron it onto the fabric. It worked for me when I made my cat's Halloween costume

I've found that cats and dogs REALLY like needle felted things. I hade a cat who liked to destroy the things I made. I had to keep them in something he couldn't get into. Then I made him his own needle felted cat toy and let him go to town on it lol. I wrapped one of those small jingle cat balls in polyfil and felt

I love Gengar, too! Ghost Pokemon are just so interesting and cool! And the fact that most of them used to be humans or other Pokemon before dieing is so cool and sinister. Your needle felting is getting really good. Slowpoke is definitely a good Squishmallow candidate, and the people making Squishmallows are missing out if they don't include him in their Pokemon lineup!

MOAR needle felting whoooooo Also, you may want to try the brush bases. they have really stiff brustles and work fantastic with felting. and you can easily clean them with a brush cleaner or an actual brush. They are pretty durable too so you dont have to exchange them as much as foam bases~ I use them all the time for my felting projects. Plus, you can floof up the wool with the bristles to create fluffy fur or manes and hair~ Keep up the great work, Loon! I love watching you felt (and hopefully poke yourself less than I do)

Tip for a base: Use yarn, white yarn is best, to to up a ball. You can do this by wrapping to yarn around itself. It will create a ball and you can easily cover it with a layer of any color wool. Hope this helps.

Pikachu felted squishmelow is super cute. What would be cool to see is the other 3 of the original 4 pokemon. Pikachu is the first one done but you should make Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle. Also definitely love to see Trevor felted version.

My beloved Samoyed dog recently passed away pretty suddenly. I’ve saved some amount of his fur from brushing sessions. I’ve really wanted to needle felt a little version of him as a memory, (when I’m more over the grieving process) but I have to practice first and I haven’t really found the energy or inspiration to get on with it… I just wanna say that your videos of needle felting these figures has given me motivation to actually start looking into this hobby and the tools I need to do it. I use undyed corriedale wool as a base, I haven't gotten any in a while but I think it was around 3$ an ounce (some places only sell it by the pound though.) It might be more expensive then the polyfill but it should be easier to felt. (There is wool other than corriedale that works for felting but not all wool is good for the base, I found this out by reading a guide on the subject, it depends on the fibers.)

so for felted things you want to stick like various appendages it helps if u leave a bit of unfelted wool on the appendage to stab into the body, that will help it stick! its hard to felt two already felted things to each other.

Fun fact, if you don’t want to pay so much for wool, you can brush through yarn with a pet brush and it works just as well, that’s what I always do :)

Dude, use closed foam, the white stuff like in packaging material, its more like soft plastic & has a lot of 'give', it does not shred like Styrofoam. Or, get a Pool noodle, same stuff, cut a eight or nine inch bit & cut it in half length wise & set the flat side on your table, felting on the curved surface, your needles will stay sharp a lot longer... Keep at it! You're doing great!!
