That's a good point, don't also forget that can become a motivating factors for Russians standing on the sidelines of the conflict to support its Govt and fight this conflict to end, the issue with this conflict is that all projections and assumptions made towards Russia turn side ways. I think Ukraine should focus every single weapon they have on chasing Russia out of their borders instead of wasting it this way for PR stunt.

These episodes of people stabbing and killing potential suitors are obviously not discouraged from their actions because of a lack of consequences. Maybe society needs to bring some of the medieval punishments, such as the Iron Maiden, The Rack, or even caning in a public place. I'm sure that the thought of having red-hot irons shoved beneath one's fingernails would deter even the most hardened criminals. The islamic countries who punish thieves by chopping their right hand off can attest to the deterrence effects of such punishments.
