You clearly don't understand conditioning, they go through pain on a daily basis so if something does happen (get shot or mines or lose a limb or whatever really) they can get over it more easily than other fighters. It's only about "guns and missiles" when you can shoot any/everyone and/or drop a bomb and wipe them out. Go ask south korea which has seen some vicious raids at their hands in recent history or sunni terrorists in syria. I was there as a military observer for the Battle of Qusayr and two North Korean units participated in this. The sunni terrorists who faced them were terrified of their battlefield prowess and it was apparent as we listened in on their comms.

Usually for shows like this, they take a few soldiers and train them for a long time specifically to put on a good show for everyone watching. The training is not standard across and even if it was, that’d be an improper use of training time because what they should be focusing on are weapons proficiency and tactics. Nobody is going to fight them unarmed, and even if such a situation were to occur, it’d be very rare and not make a huge difference in the outcome of the war.
