On any given day, one can never win against gravity. There's only those days on which you don't lose against it.

A few months ago I was painting inside a garage and I turned and fell down two steps. It wasn't the fall that surprised me, it was the instantaneous connection with the floor. In falls in the past I had time to look at the ceiling, laugh at my folly or just reconsider my choices in life. But no, it was just SLIP BAM. Gravity doesn't like me anymore I can tell

I was heading out the front door to go to work at 1:30 am, and I had a fight with gravity, it not only won, but owned me as it showed me how missing six stairs and landing on concrete feels. at the time I was more annoyed that I had to change my uniform because I put holes in it, but then the pain and stiffness kicked in about 3 hours later during a 14hour shift. so, I no longer argue with Gravity.

Gravity reminds me over and over how it reigns supremely over me. Since I was a child I have injured myself over and over and over. If I can trip over or run into something I definitely will. I’m accidents waiting to happen. So I don’t do things like this, jumping out of planes, bungee jumping, parasailing, etc. Even if I don’t die the amount of pain I know I’ll feel is not worth the few minutes of that “experience “.

Same here brother. A few weeks ago I had a Wolf or Hobo Spider crawl up my leg at 2 in the morning while I'm laying on my bed. Well when I turned on my phone light and saw what it was I jumped up out of bed and by time I halfway turned around to grab something to get the spider gravity said "NOPE". I ended up topping over and tackling my bookshelf messing up my shoulder, neck, side, and chest on my left side. Also pretty much belly flopping on my stomach wasn't bad enough some of the contents on the shelf come crashing down on top of me.

As a kid, I loved gravity, there little else except video games and roller coasters, that was more fun for me as a kid then to climb into a roof, tree or other structure and jump off. Sure I may have broken a few bones between the ages of 5-11 due to gravity but it made me learn to respect it more rather than fear it. This also allowed me to enjoy cliff diving at 10-11 years old and bungee jumping a little over a decade later. Ziplines have always been fun ever since I was 6 or 7 years old. The early lessons on respecting gravity may have also been the reason why I never fell off a horse (was riding em since I was 4-5 years old).

I too battle with gravity. Dec. 4, 2017 I fell 25 feet to the Earth. I was working on a ham radio antenna, home, alone. I came crashing out of the sky like a meteor. I landed on my feet after a carabiner failed on my safety harness releasing me to the sky. At said time i was 360 pounds. I got second and third degree rope burns on both of my hands. My glasses went one way and my cell phone another. I broke both bones in my right shin. I had to drag myself to find my glasses the my phone. While laying on the ground I called the squad. While talking to them I think i broke my leg. The next question was icing on the cake. "What makes you think that? To which I responded " my foot is facing the wrong way." I live in a little village surrounded by corn fields. It took about 15 minutes to get to me. The minute the came rolling into town everyone came out and over to see what was going on. One of my neighbors looked over the squad crew and saw my leg and asked how i was so calm about it. He said he would have been barfing and swearing. I told him through years of living next to him that i have a high pain tolerance. Good times😂

Zip lines are fun. I have few regrets in life. There is one, the Navy put the kybash on, doing a high line/zip line, ship to ship while i was in the Pacific. They deemed the waters to choppy🤨 We lost a cpl pallets with soft drinks. Told them, cans can not hold on, i have 2 strong arms and hands... i can hold on... NOPE... would NOT let me do it. 😠

I get along just fine with gravity... because I never make the mistake of _arguing_ with it. I know, if I were to try, I would fail, every time. My one victory over gravity is my height (I'm tall); in deference to this victory (& knowing gravity can be unforgiving), I even avoid high places, where gravity might have opportunity to seek vengeance on my no-longer-skinny frame.

I call myself a Physicist, because every time I ever tried to do things like this, I proved the Law of Gravity and Planetary Centrifugal force to be 100% accurate. years ago I would leap off roofs, from moving vehicles out of trees and not a single issue, I once even rode one of these "flying foxes" and scraped my butt on the dirt below, now if I tried any of that, I would be hurting tenfold from places that where not even part of the incident.
