I feel sorry for Wendy, she gave Robbie another chance and he lied and abused her trust, then dipper hammered the final nail in the coffin by 1: Bringing up the fact she just broke up with someone she may have had feelings for and 2: being so selfish to not give her enough space after something so utterly soul-crushing as a breakup. Wendy honestly deserved so much better than that, she is an amazing person who was treated like property or someone who could be bought off, as we find out in the "Society of the Blind Eye" episode that she is stressed 24/7 because of her family, her friends were probably her only coping mechanism for that and yet this fell apart when Robbie and Dipper decided to cause an emotional trainwreck. I think we can all learn something from this, if you know someone going through something that is crushing them, just give them the space they need to get back to themselves, BUT let them know you are there for them and no matter what you will help without any hesitation as something like this can and has ended lives literally and metaphorically. Sorry if this just looks like a rant, but I just had to let out all of my thoughts based on this one clip, it is something that doesn't really get as much attention as it should and can easily lead to problems down the line. Breaking up with Robbie was a good thing, even I can say that Dipper saved Wendy from making a big mistake (going to a hill just the two and being inside a car, and their friends didn't come like Robbie said, so you may guess). Wendy is a cool girl, the coolest in every sense, so that's why there is no one who deserved her in the end. Cool people are independent, almost perfect and they can be great and cool friends, and they need a love partner who can have the same level of coolness.

I used to think the same way, but thinking back on it, I feel like Wendy MAY have overreacted just a little bit. Don't get me wrong, I get she's heartbroken over the whole thing with Robbie that literally JUST happened, and Dipper obviously should've given her space, but I feel like she should've at least taken into account that Dipper was just a 12 year-old kid, and his invitation wasn't so much a date as it was just a fun evening to keep her mind off things. If it was another boy her age, yeah, it would look a lot worse.

I agree, this was not a rant thank you for sharing your opinion, because I never thought of it because as a little kid watching this episode and the entire show, when I first saw this episode I told my sister and cousins every time we would rewatch the episode that I thought the episode was very sad because I felt bad for dipper. I still think it's wrong to interfere with anyone's relationship, if anything just give advice, but do not break people's relationships just for your own interests, or concerns. Like I understand dipper cared about her and wanted to help, but the way he decided to "help" was wrong, it's up to Wendy if she wanted to break up with Robbie and whenever she wants to break up with him, eventually the truth will come to the light so dipper had no business interfering in their relationship. I also understand he was just a child, but dipper supposedly is smart and pretty mature for his age, what he did was wrong especially when he celebrated the break up in her presence and continued to try making a move on her.

Personally I don’t think it was wrong of Dipper to expose the fact that Robbie was a bad boyfriend. Because whether he was genuinely brainwashing her or not (and I know what Hirsch said, but the way he portrayed it really didn’t work well), he was a lying, immature jerk who kept bullying a twelve-year-old just for liking his girlfriend and kept clinging to her when she was clearly losing interest in him. I didn't fully understand this scene when I first saw it, but years later, I think I finally do, or at least, I have my own interpretation. I believe Robbie was telling the truth when he said he had no idea about the messages, but given how bad the situation looked, he thought he could save face by admitting that he didn't actually write the song himself. However, THIS was the last straw for Wendy, because she genuinely believed Robbie wrote that song for her because he loved her. Not only did Robbie lie to her after she gave him a second chance, but he provided her with a false token of his feelings that may as well be non-existent.
