The Prototype of the Old Country Gravity Fed Pit by Old Country Pits was given to me in 2019. COVID caused a delay on production but now everything is percolating at Academy and supply is kicking up. I love this smoker so much it essentially woke me from the 4 year Harvey (I got 52 inches) Funk I was in and compelled myself and Popdaddy to create new content for my fan base.
In this video we will show you how and why the pit works the way it does, best practices, how to pressure wash and wire out a pit end of season, how to season it with nut oils, present info on the shelving, torch firing the main chamber, and finally, gasket care and firebox and storage tip. Hi Donnie, glad to see you are still kicking! I own a Stumps and also leave all the doors slightly open especially the door to the cooking chamber as a light mold will form if left closed to long after use. Also I use a coffee can to catch the grease drippings, makes for an easy clean up. No washing the grease pan. Looking forward to more of your videos!

Welcome back Donnie! Missed your crazy videos. Lookin' good, too. How'd you do it? I came very close to getting that smoker after watching Mad Scientist BBQ's video on it. I ended up choosing different smoker and I'm kickin' myself hard for not getting the OCGFP. Again, welcome back...the KZbin bbq circuit hasn't been the same without ya.
