@JakeFields923 жыл бұрын
@@julessgalilea2639 I don’t use the 500 dollar looper he has which is the RC-300. I bought it once but it was very complicated to figure out. It’s the most versatile looper on the market so I’ll eventually get it again. But I got instead the simple RC- 1 looper. It’s like 70 bucks or something. Works great. Simple features. And obviously my looping won’t be in the exact measures as Harrison’s because it’s not as advanced but that’s totally fine. I’ll have to play like a couple more bars to complete the full rhythm section before I hit the solo parts. I love playing to crowds in the streets here in LA. It’s so much fun!

If for one second you are hesitating to buy Jamie's Gravity lesson, let me save you some time... YOU MUST BUY IT. I came here because of his "slow dancing in a burning room" lesson, and Its safe to say he is an extremely proficient guitar teacher, one of the best. I again thought that I already knew how to play "Gravity" quite well... but after going through the lesson, boy was I wrong. Jamie is a master at teaching the tone and emotion of John Mayers playing, by explaining all of the subtle and minute details. He goes over things from both the Live in LA and studio versions in over 17 different videos. He teaches techniques that transcend this song alone; techniques which are transferrable to ALL areas of playing. He even gives an in depth analysis on what sort of gear will help you get JMs tone. Jamie has turned me from your average bedroom acoustic guitar player into someone who is confident and advanced enough to scream solos in front of a crowd at gigs. Whether you are an extremely advanced player, or a beginner, I promise you that these lessons will teach you something new.

See, I've been trying to learn from KZbin and online teachers (Since COVID) and what I realized is that as you learn from this guy you're not just learning one song but you can take any concept to your playing in general and it just makes you better. To second Mitchell Adamson's comments... If you're on the fence about buying Jamie's bundle (ALL of the courses, not just one or two of the songs) f'ing get off it. I've bought a ton of online courses for guitar (and countless other things over the years) and Jamie's course is EPIC! The music theory course is worth its weight in gold and his suite of programs will take you from being someone who can "play a few songs" to being a bonafide guitarist. Get that shit!
@TJJJJJJJJJJJ3 жыл бұрын
Mate you are right on the money ! I’ve been playing guitar for 15+ years and thought I was an okay 🎸-ist but after getting his slow dancing lesson (then buying the whole bundle later ) something just clicked and everything just made sense I went from playing mostly from memory and repetition to being able to improv all over the neck. You certainly learn the songs he teachers but the best lesson is understanding how it all connects. I had a good few months where I was having 💡 moments daily ! It reignited my passion for guitar and I’m playing more than I ever have and having so much more fun doing it I really can’t agree with you anymore if anyone is on the fence stop over thinking it and buy the whole bundle (don’t make my mistake and buy just the one lesson or you will regret it ) The best gift you can give someone is the gift of music and for that I’ll always be indebted to Jamie. Even if you think you are a good guitarist Jamie’s courses will change your life and how you view music and the fretboard. Anyone learning guitar today is incredibly lucky there are resources like this available it would have saved me years of playing scales and jamming basic blues shuffles
@GraysonKade5 жыл бұрын
Jamies bends and vibrato (especially his bending vibrato) is next level. Soooo clean and smooth. Soulful. That's one of the main things I'm practicing lately because it just makes such a huge difference with everything you play, especially blues, if your bending and vibrato is perfect. You can play the coolest lick with just normal bends and normal vibrato and it'll sound good, but play the same thing with bending and vibrato like Jamie demonstrates here, the kind that really moves you, and that same lick will now sound 10x better. Goes for everything from the simplest to the most complex of licks. I'm gonna pick up some of Jamies courses too.

The perfect thing about this Masterpiece is that you hit the real notes at the real time.. especially while you was playing that amazing solo .. Nothing to say but perfect

How can anyone say that John Mayer is an average or overrated guitarist? These Live in LA pieces are incredible even before you take in to account that he's singing while playing. They must not be familiar with anything but Your Body Is A Wonderland. That or they hate the fact that he can top charts with his mainstream pop hits AND play the way he does.

Gravity Gravity is working against me And gravity wants to bring me down Oh I'll never know what makes this man With all the love that his heart can stand Dream of ways to throw it all away Oh Gravity is working against me And gravity wants to bring me down Oh twice as much aint twice as good And can't sustain like a one half could It's wanting more That's gonna send me to my knees [repeat] Oh gravity, stay the hell away from me And gravity has taken better men than me (Now how can that be?) Just keep me where the light is Just keep me where the light is Keep you all where the light is Just keep us where the light is Ohh... where the light is! [repeat]

I’ve always said people who react negatively to talent like this are simply non musicians. But your response is more witty. Lol

joesl8 that’s your opinion! For the tone, i know it’s a 1954 custom shop strat, going trough a delay pedal (can’t figure out which one) and a tube screamer (only used for last solo) going into a Princeton Reverb amp (with built in spring reverb on) mic’d with an R121

I love seeing tiny glimpses of Jamie's face getting into it. Part of me was worried he just stared straight ahead blankly because hes too good. Its simple, guitar takes a hold on everybody here. A beautiful thing
