Looking back on this years later, this animation is still really impressive. It captures the essence of the game, the characters and their dynamics, and is filled with heart to boot! This is an excellent set-up for Gravity Rush 2. Gravity Rush is definitely one-of-a-kind

I'm actually playing it right now. The game does have some apparent issues. Outside of the boring side missions, some main missions are just tedious like the stealth ones. The gameplay can sometimes be wonky with collision and hit detection. Camera can sometimes be annoying, since there is no lock--on when doing air battles. Enemies are uninteresting in both look and gameplay design. Lastly some sections of the story and missions drag on for longer than they should. JUST TO BE CLEAR, I just cited some issues I think the game has, but that doesn't mean it's a "bad" game. The game is clearly unique. The feeling of "rushing" through the sky with your gravity powers is truly breathtaking. The art direction, music and world design are all awesome as well. The story can be intriguing at times, especially towards the end where I'm at. They did also add some gameplay elements, like the styles and Panther Mode, which are fun. Lastly the cutscenes are almost always fun to watch as well. The game has some amazing elements, but it's also dragged down by some annoying stuff, that a lot of people who look back on it probably forget, because they mostly remember the cool moments.

@@Heimdall66 as fans of the series, let's have a discussion. IMO a flawed game that has so much potential. The characters, world, art style, soundtrack and sometimes combat are all absolutely fantastic and all mixed together is when the game is at its best. However the story and gameplay/mission design drags it down for me. I prefer Kat's fish-out-of-water story in 1 which lets us relate to her more, and there's always a bigger narrative. For the first half of 2, stuff just "happens" with no real bigger picture, characters are introduced and are sudden thrown out when they seem to indicate being a future threat (the council) and it seems like a general waste of time. (Spoilers) when Hekseville comes back, it honestly feels really cheap as a way to pad out playtime when there's so much they can do with Jih Para Lhao that isn't explored to the fullest. There are some missions which are quite good and give life to the world (defending shops and mining). However other missions DO NOT SERVICE THE GAMEPLAY AT ALL. Episode 12 (or when you enter a giant monster city) is one of, if not, the most horribly designed missions in the game, which cramps you in narrow hallways when the game is designed to have you fly around in open spaces. Stealth missions are also horrible when you're specifically not meant to use powers given to you. You're not even allowed to be smart, and the AI is intentionally dogshit so it compensates for this very issue, despite being discouraged to play the game normally. Missions like these banish the gameplay to an unenjoyable slog for me. On a side note, upgrades are not as useful as they were in 1 and the camera is very finicky. I didn't mean to write out so much but I hope you understand my view on 2. I love the series and I'm sure you do too, and 1 is legit my favourite game ever, despite its flaws. Any further discussion would be appreciated, my dude.

Nah it wasn’t me, I may be an Xbox user but this is my favourite game, I’d understand if they never brought this gem to Xbox (mostly because its a PS exclusive) but maybe the least they could do is PC, I don’t want to buy a console just for one game, I would do it because GR is phenomenal but I don’t just have that kind of money sitting in my pockets. This franchise has a higher hurdle for getting invested; anime girl protagonist, anime style aesthetic, completely different gameplay mechanics, high fantasy world, none of which are inherently bad at all but can be daunting for a new player or someone unfamiliar with those things from getting into it. So I can see why it isn't too popular, but man, getting over that hurdle exposes you to such a unique experience. I really hope Sony continues this series. The gameplay has so much potential to build on. Getting the right marketing push and polishing it more could yield big results. If another series that had a similar problem of having a high hurdle (Monster Hunter) can break into higher popularity after persisting for so long, I really think Gravity Rush could do the same.

Gravity Rush 2 is my favourite 1st party title from PlayStation. It's such a charming, fun, wholesome adventure with loveable characters, a well written story and endless playability. I really wish Sony would have done more to support it rather than close down its servers and sweep it under the rug due to poor sales. I admit, it's not for casual gamers and it's not for everyone but this passion project really nails everything I personally look for in a video game. I can't think of an action game that offered so much narrative, variety and wholesome fun that just keeps you wanting to come back for more, even after you've completed the storyline. I hope that when it becomes free on PSN Plus, everyone will see what an absolute gem this title is and respond loudly enough to have Sony green light a 3rd release of this adorable franchise!

With 3D animation, computers help you out a bunch and you can set paths for things that move and the computer will follow it. It's still a very time consuming process, but it beats 2D animation efficiency by a mile. (but 2d looks better and is more impressive in my opinion😛)

I stumbled across GR1 as part of the PS Now sub, and I ended up finishing it in three days, then the same day went out to get GR2. I love love love this world, it's amazing, and the characters are very interesting. I have to say my #1 fav woman is Raven. I was literally trying not to scream when I saw her while watching this cause it was like 11:30 p.m. lol... I do wish there was more content *sighs*

it is actually a fake language? The Closed Captions option works. I can't understand it, so I know it's not Spanish or French. I can understand some Portuguese so I'm pretty sure it's not Portuguese. Romanian, maybe?

And it kinda shows how powerful Kat really is since she primarily uses her legs to fight, but she's using her fists instead just to show how powerful she is when upset. Thank you for this beautiful story. I'm making my way through the GR and GR2 now on PS5! To be honest, it a brilliant experience that I've never feel before. The way it plays and emotional parts, music and atmosphere are just way different in comparison to other games and stories. It's something unique and so talented. Thank you very much for these games. I really love them!

Leaving this as PSA to anyone complaining about the "lack of advertising" this game got for the millionth time-- even here: This is literally *THE* advertising! We're on the channel, there's the symbols, and this came out the month before the game even launched. Few games get anything even close to this. This is not including the trailer they showed off on stage announcing Raven being playable this same month, the accolades trailers around launch, the crossover outfits later in the year which *should* have helped yet again, the remaster of the first game meaning there was another chance, the fancy commercial they made themselves that won an award and had a single... Like I hope people truly realize how deep Sony went in for this game. There's a lot who get the story wrong these days for attention and even more who pretend that they were there at launch. If you played the game later and enjoyed it, that's fine, but please don't act like it's these guys fault that everyone wasn't there day one. *Please* support this series if it returns. Sony is very much a company that has a "not appreciated until it's gone" streak going on.

Man, these two games were something else. Great world, nice characters, creative Gameplay, superb Soundtrack that is highly underrated. GR or GD is just very original. A shame the studio behind it is no more.
