Nah it's more of a A) the average body somewhat in-between both of them B) could be useless but if you train correctly you can have amazing speed and endurance 3) usually of the heavier type, but can be some of the strongest people in the world if trained correctly

I’m stuck between a mesomorph and endomorph with how my top half seems to be triangular but when I get lower I have a bit of a blocky build Also I’ve naturally been strong for my entire life while I’ve had skinnier arms and legs Though I’m finally getting into weight training so I’ll see how I form from there

I'm ecto and I start to put more muscle when I started add cardio in my workouts, I was afraid to lose weight before because they all tell you to not doing it but it's very important for your heart, and the blood flow , you'll be more endurent so you can work harder and push heavier being less tired , your body will produce more testosterone and you'll build lean muscle mass, visually you'll look less big than if you're bulking but at the end you'll be healthier and have a shredded greek gods body trust me !

It's actually a real struggle for endomorphs like myself to fit through doorways. If the door is half open I can't tell you how many times I've hit my arms or my sides and shoulders on door handles and stuff, just because I'm almost as large as the door itself

I'm a mix of the 3... I have a more athletic shape, but I would describe my muscle gains as "slowly but surely". I also tend to gain fat fairly easily, especially in the love handles area, I have to be careful about what I eat and how much I eat.

As an endomorph I have notice the great strength gap between me and my other mesomorph and ectomorph buddies since we were little. I could always pull off a strength feat my buddies couldn't. I even once demonstrated how I could lift my motorbike up about 30 degrees at one side and asking them to try the same but they couldn't even get it to budge

I am a endomorph and i have been training from past 7 years now and to all the endomorphs out their working hard in the gym i wanna tell u that i am so proud of u as i know how hard it is for people like us to stay in shape .. Less carbs , less rest days but hey i always wondered how can i deadlift 400 pounds and bench 100 kgs and lift those heavy ass dumbells in the gym. Now i see how and why i could do what 90% of the people coudnt. . P.s - had a slip disc one month back becuz of deadlifting..lol

hturt4 combine Keto with Intermittent fast. I just started the Keto but have done the fasts longer (16-8). No joke, I have more energy. The hardest part is cutting wheat grains and sugars, ma NLT because they are in nearly everything. In short I feel much better and am now waiting for the rest of the story.

You gotta start eating more meat. It’s expensive. But it’s the best way to gain weight that is lean muscle and not fat. Chicken is good but you need to be getting at least 0.7 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Carb up with potatoes they are good and high in potassium. Its expensive to be big. I won’t lie. I’m 6’4 260. Grocery bill is high. But it’s worth it at the end of the day for the long term gains. Muscle is an investment and a lot of ppl forget that and try substitute what should not be substituted.

@@rustyshackleford5409 could get protein powder, instead of as much meat. I recommend one meal a day containing meat, and the rest can be any other food group (can be protein) this way, you save more money, and still get key protein. Also creatine, I recommend taking creatine after a years worth of Training.

If you’re an ectomorph and feeling a little disheartened by the length and difficulty of the road ahead: Don’t worry, you can definitely get into great shape. Just acknowledge that you need more work. I’m a natural ectomorph, but I have been training and eating right for 15+ years now and my body has gotten to a new homeostasis. I used to be 78kg, skinny, while a fully grown (young) adult of 19/20yrs old. Right now I’m 93kg, 10%bf and even when I stop training (e.g. when I’ve been injured or after knee surgery) I never drop below 88kg. I’ve trained and eaten so consistently for a number of years, that my body accepts that I’m apparently in an environment which requires more muscle. Just focus on getting your training and nutrition knowledge up to par and enjoy taking the long term view that eating right and training smart is simply a core part of who you are and you’ll be doing it until you die. This way you’re not worried about investing a few years and it keeps being fun. Good luck to all you ectomorphs out there. You got this.

You must be a pretty tall guy, if you consider yourself an ectomorph. - I'm 176 cm and 56 KG, borderline to single digit bodyfat atm, but with barely any muscle. I hope to gain roughly 4 KGs of lean tissue in the next 3 years.

Exactly - wtf is there to be sad about? That's one of the best body types to have and they look awesome in clothes... and the best part - you don't even need to worry about fat gain while eating whatever the fuck - that's a godsend ability. The results of this test did surprise me a bit; when I was younger my body was ectomorphic, no shoulders no butt at all. It wasn’t until I started lifting weights at seventeen that my body was developing (very slowly) to the point where I suspected I really wasn’t that body type at all. At my age now, I gain muscle pretty quick, so I guess I’ve become more of a mesomorph. Anyway this test was fun and informative, thank you!

Mesomorph..but strange (maybe) part is that one time rebuilding after injury, was able to put on what seems too much weight for height but little gain in waist. Obviously was working out big time, but it seems no matter what my weight...build still stays close to same.

Not true. Layers of fats from those who are inactive and eating way too much can mask what the true body type is. I found that his questions focusing on bone sizes classifies me as an meso, but my current belly size has always led me to assume I am an endo.

Never heard of changing a body type, the general DNA type is just that. You will always have that design as you said , you're approach/ maintenance will depend on your bodys muscle fiber ratios/metabolism.

What he's talking about is "somatotyping". Very few people are a pure ecto, endo or mesomorph. The overwhelming majority of us are combinations of two or all three to varying degrees. You can change your body composition through diet and exercise, but without specific diet and training most people will (at some point) revert back to something that is similar to their original somatotype. Skinny people (ectomorphs) can gain muscle mass with specific diet and training. But again, without that specific diet and training they will revert back at some point.

I answered C for almost every question. However I have worked hard to look like a mesomorph so my physique is a mix between mesomorph and endomorph. My shoulders are very wide but my waist is naturally wide as well, even without the fat. I’ve created the illusion of having a narrow waist by building up my upper upper body but keeping calories low enough that I don’t get my love handles noticeably big. I learned the hard way that I can never get rid of every bit of fat around my love handles. I even got down to 160 one time just to see and they never completely disappeared.

I used to be an ectomorph until I reached age 19. I then started to bulk a lot easier and lift a lot heavier weight. I went from a 265 bench to 305lbs. I like being a mesomorph. The only thing I hate is training my long legs.

My buddies in the military always commented that if I did go to the gym more often id be hell of strong. I am an ecto but I am working on gaining weight and getting stronger I’ve noticed a lot of change in my strength the past month of working out. I’m 6 foot 155 pounds and before this month I was 148 and I’ve got a lot stronger i wasn’t able to bench the bar first day of working out now I can bench 80 pounds for 5 sets 5 reps. My box squat is at 110 pounds for 5 sets 5 reps and I barely was able to do 60 first day of working out. I’m still 15 and got a long way to go but I’m very confident and so should you

Just keep working at it man. I’m 6’1 with a weight anywhere between 155 and 165 lbs (fluctuates based on time of year and location), and it took me a while to be able to bench a plate (135lbs) for an eight rep set. I can also remember when I struggled with 65 lbs, so you’ll get up there eventually.

I'm an Ectomorph, anyone else? Bruh, we may not have it as easy as Mesomorph but at least we can last longer hours without food and walk/run longer distances. Dont be too focused on appealing to society's idea of a 'desirable body'. Just do what you can do and be proud of it. hell, you shouldn't be doing anything for anyone other than yourself - like why would you want some hoe in a relationship that'll leave you for some rich guy later and with -$10000 in the bank? This hope of happiness is a facade in the minds so just workout for your body alone because you only have what you're given (genetics is genetics, you're born the way you are and one of the biggest lessons of life is to understand that there are things you simply can't change).

This helped me confirm what I already thought, as a kid I thought I was Ectomorph but as I grew more into Mesomorph, now there's no question about it. My shape was always inverted triangle but I was thin as a kid, gymnastics since I was 6 did wonders for muscle building.

Actually, there are 9 body types. The others are combinations. Rarely ever someone is one body type. ectomesomorph (a very common bodytype)-They are an ectomorph with a slightly larger frame that is very tall. They are pretty good at body building due to putting on muscle as well as not being able to gain fat easily. They aren't that strong and instead have good stamina. They will still need to eat alot to gain muscle mass and are often a simple rectangular shape. They have well developed legs. Many are good basketball players and runners. Good for bodybuilding, bad for being a strongman. MesoEctomorph(quite rare)-This is my body type. They are a very skinny mesomorph that is tall. They have decent sized shoulders that can easily put on muscle. If they stay indoors alot, like I did as a kid, they will tend to look like an ectomorph and be very skinny but if they work out they can put on muscle easily. We often don't have that much stamina but can overpower ectomorphs and ectomesomorphs. Think of a dave bautista or carmen electra. We make good swimmers, amazing bodybuilders, and have decent strength for being a strongmen, but we don't have enough fat mass to keep us secured while lifting very heavy weights. It's often tough to get a six pack. If we eat 10,000+ calories a day and take protein shakes and go on diets, we can look like a very tall mesoendomorph, the next bodytype. Mesoendomorph(very rare)-This bodytype is a mesomorph who has more fat mass. They are amazing at strongmen lifting due to having amazing strength and just enough fat to keep themselves stable. They can bodybuild, but gain fat quite easily, so doing cardio is recommended. The fat however, goes under their muscle which gives them a huge look that pushes out their muscle. They are normal height and often don't need any supplements to get shredded. In my opinion, the best bodytype. Khali muscle may be this bodytype or a mesoendomorph, he talks about being huge once as a kid and also being very skinny so who knows which one. Endomesomorph(common bodytype)-This bodytype is an endomorph who can put on muscle easily. They are average height and have pretty short bulky limbs and very good weight allowing them to easily do strongmen activities. Too bad unlike the mesoectomorph and Ectomesomorph's, where both have advantages over the other, this bodytype seems to be totally inferior to Mesoendomorph's. They are bad at bodybuilding due to their fat overlapping their muscle making them look more like fat people who you'd think are endomorphs. A way to differentiate them is that they often can lift alot more and are able to shove people around more than endomorphs. They often have rivalries with ectomesomorphs in the gym, hating how the ecto meso's are so ripped and calling them twigs, while ecto meso's call endomeso's fatasses and hate how they easily lift heavy weights like paper. Ectoendomorph(common)-This bodytype is often a skinny endomorph. They look like an ectomorph who is average height, but most of their bodyweight is fat. Most people of this bodytype come form india and china. My mom is this bodytype (my dad is a mesomorph btw). This bodytype is heavier than an ectomorph and sometimes ecto meso's but are often lighter than meso's and mesoecto's. Endoectomorph(maybe the rarest bodytype)-This bodytype is basically an ectomorph who puts on weight like an endomorph. They often have an ectomorph appearence, tall and thin bones, but their body can easily put on fat, making them the very tall fat guys like a big show. They do put on muscle due to having to support all this fat and often keep it if they go on a diet to lose the fat.

Nice video! I can see from the video that I was an ectomorph but now I have turned into a mesophorm with still very few characteristics of an ectomorph. Makes me feel that change is possible.

I'm an endomorph, in high school I had to work out 2 hrs a day doing 1 to 2 mile runs 3-4 days a week to get down to ectomorph size also with a very strict diet absolutely no sweets lived off protein vitamin shakes and whole meals typical steak with a side of mash potatoes and greens. Took me two years to lose 140 lbs. When I started working I worked out less and my diet went out the window within 1 year I was up to 240lb from 165 still lighter but still very much an endomorph. Changing your type is possible but very hard for some of us and you gotta keep with it.

Tell me about it. I'm kind of like a cross between ecto and mesomorph. I'm trying to gain more weight but I keep losing it. It does suck that you had trouble losing weight after doing all that work too. My step mom also has trouble with that.

I'm an endomorph at 6'3'', 53 yrs old, and 200lbs, I was trying to lose some weight and be just under 190, can't seem to lose anything except to maintain. I also train hard at weightlifting 4x a week. Thank you.

6'3" @ 200 for an endo it's pretty nice. More cardio and less weight will get you where you want to be. You can always bring the weight back if you don't like what you see in the mirror!

@@justinnaarden9290 ive been fat and obese my whole life i dont call that ecto.. but u call it what u want my man. Every man can cut down for a show, im like 8% bf there. Hard to build muscle in a consistant deficit to. The moment my cut was over and i started eating again i gaind strenght by 30% in like couple of months. Thats more than the whole year xD i was so depleted the whole time. No cheats during the loooong cut of 29kgs thats like 70lbs. Not optimal for bodybuilding.

I can easily say he's right with the analysis and his diet suggestions. These suggestions for my body type are the only things that have ever worked for me and thats 20 years of trying various workouts and diets. Now ironically I was trying this new diet before this video but can attest its working the best I've ever had. Well done great video.

There's something between all of these im a prime example iv got broad shoulders but skinny wrists and hands ect a large rib cage and a bit of a belly nothing crazy but it's not slim , im pretty short 5'8 and I'm fairly well muscled I fit none of the category's properly

i'm not sure whether my body type counts as ectomorph because i'm got some muscle and chest, yet at the same time i'm a bit fat, more like skinny fat. but my wrists are only 6 inches, my chest is 35 inches which makes no sense because it looks quite big after doing so many push ups. and to make it all worse my hips are slightly wide. i'm 5'8 and weigh 67kg. I've got shitty genetics.

+Andrew Price, wow, 6'4 and 160lbs you're just a little bit heavier than me. Only managed to gain 37lbs in 9 years, people have always assumed i'm extremely skinny and that i need to eat. But i am a extremely fast sprinter.

+Andrew Price, i guess it depends on your age as well. I had a very fast metabolism at 16. Now at 25 it's slowed down quite abit, starting gain more fat but at the same time managed to gain some more muscles.

William Burke any tips bro? I turn 17 in week and I only weigh 130 lol, my friends who go to the gym a bit more than me always tell me I have the perfect body to gain muscle. However I find it hard for myself to gain muscle or weight. My appetite is relatively small so eating a lot does not work for me. What should I do diet wise and lifting wise? I also play high level soccer 4 times a week with a high metabolism which makes me burn crazy calories

Matt Garofalo there is only one thing that will make you gain weight: food. You can do all the training, steroids (Don't), whatever, but if you aren't eating enough you can't grow. As an ectomorph you need to eat energy dense foods (pasta, beef, sweet potatoes, healthy fats, lean proteins), tons of (healthy) carbs. Eat smaller meals more frequently, 6-8 if necessary. Wake up earlier if you are having trouble fitting them all in. For training: perfect your main barbell lifts: squat, bench, bent over row, deadlift, military press. Once your technique is flawless focus on continually lifting more weight. Add isolation (bodybuilding) exercises for definition. This with tons of food will make you grow. If you aren't growing you aren't eating enough.

William Burke I was 68kg before and now 75.6kg ectomorph 5'9f. I train compound + isolate 3 times a week, 6 times a day of eating, 2 shake (concrete mass) oat, butter, apple and grape seed extract. I noticed some changes especially on my bicep, lat, shoulder, chest and quads. They are all getting big, however I'm getting belly fat especially below my belly. Are these normal? Because I'm not yet in cutting phase, I wanna hit 80kg or more. Just like meso body type. Excuse my grammar.

Syah Muse This is absolutely normal, unfortunately naturally (non-steroids) we can only gain .5 - 1lb of muscle per week, if that. If we are gaining faster than that we are adding fat. Don't cut your calories just yet! Instead keep doing the same and add more cardio to burn off the fat. Lean bulking continually is way better than bulking then a cutting phase.
