But he liked his grand kids and used to have them brought to him before he or they went to bed. But he never did that for the two boys Aegon and aemound. No wonder they broke his shit😂😂. Alicent feels guilty as f*ck because she could've sent Cole to protect her children and grandchildren. Ser Crispy Froglegs feels insecure, so he takes it out on an innocent, which seems to be a huge theme of this show. And Crispy is just life for Alicent. She can't bear the weight of a realm on her back. So Crispy allows her to vent.

9:34 I absolutely loved this scene, Matt & Emma are just so fckn good on-screen together! I only have ONE bone to pick: When Rhaenyra accuses Daemon of plotting "his war" when she was in labor. Go rewatch Episode 10/S1, Daemon did EVERYTHING CORRECTLY. • He knows Otto's plan will be to send a small band of assassins & do it thru stealth. So he organizes what little force they have on Dragonstone to watch the skies & the beaches. They dont have much men, but they can be vigilant & LOOK stronger than they are. • He correctly understands that no more time can be wasted. The Greens had a head start & they need to play catch up & FAST. So he wants to secure the Riverlands & Harrenhall bc he knows strategically that will tip the war in their favor. Jace walks in & says nothing is to be done w/out the Queen's consent. Daemon has the maester send the ravens anyways -- again, time can't be wasted. All Daemon did in those crucial hours/days when Rhaenyra was struggling thru her birth -- something we've seen the MEN can do nothing abt -- He took the assertive role to PROTECT HIS QUEEN/WIFE & THEIR KIDS & in many ways to secure her claim as the rightful heir/ruler. So when Rhaenyra answered Jace when he asked "Wheres Daemon?" & she goes, "I dont know...gone to madness...gone to 𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘳..." AND she throws that back in his face in THIS argument...dafuq??! He did what was necessary, he acted appropriately & he probably got them ahead of the curve which they desperately needed at the time. It's bizarre that even Rhaenyra cannot recognize that. & I'll be honest, when she said her "I want Aemond Targaryen" line, she LOOKED directly at Daemon with a "do what you do" look in her eyes & she knew he's been out for blood since he learned Viserys died & they usurped her throne...what did she think was gonna happen? & what responsibility will she bear for her part in it? Bc she could've also said aloud "I want him dead, but we'll make a plan". Or something. When she singled out Daemon, she couldve pulled him aside & said "We'll do it together. Promise me." Point is, she could've stopped it.

Not gonna lie...I hope they deviate & make him a Cole b@stard. Makes since that he was the only one of all their children to be shipped off to Oldtown. Him being a Dragonrider points to him being a Targ but who is to say the riderless dragons that were claimed during the dance were actaully claimed by "dragon seeds". I know it goes against the establised lore that only those with Targ blood can ride a dragon but what if GRRM is using HotD to break open the established lore? Or maybe somewhere in Alicent or Cole's bloodline there is some Targ blood & that was enough for him to be able to claim the dragon.

She, personally, ASKED (damn near begged) Daemon to join her (Episode 7), "I cannot do this without you" & she meant ALL of him, his "darkness" bc she says that's a key factor: the Greens will fear what they'll do together. & when she gave her line, "I want Aemond Targaryen", she looked DIRECTLY at Daemon, like "Do what you do"...She should've known. Daemon's been wanting blood since he learned Vizzy died & she finally, in a way, give him permission to act on impulses, but then she wants to act surprised at the results. 🙃

Many kings (and queens) were protecting their heirs by keeping them from battlefield. Jacaerys is Rhaenyra's Crown Prince - it is practical she doesn't want to risk sending him. What is imsportant, is that Baela doesn't act as it if was unfair - she seems to understand stituation and agrees with her step-mother. Baela is now one of Rhaenyra's warrior and she isn't her heir, so she shouldn't expect to be treated like glass (and seems she doesn't).

@GrayArea I'm so grateful for how good this episode was, the subtle visual hints and context really make you feel every character. Aegon killing all the rat catchers in his wrath without any thought of finding the perpetrator blood spoke of shows he's quick to act but that will be his downfall. The scene that killed for me is as Otto is leaving and Aegon removes him as hand to the king. He has this look not the look of a man simply fired from a job a look of a man who knows he’s dead and defeated he knows his faction is finished he knows the king and his new hand are as likely to Win as Daemon is likely to spare their lives. In short he’s lost the Game of Thrones Fantastic acting.

Otto is thinking about how he should have switched to Rhaenyra earlier. The way Otto laughs at Aegon and scowls at Criston are just marvelous. And the whole speach plus the hand pin being dropped. Aemond in the pillow house is sooo over the top. Probably he wants to substitute his mother in some way. And explains why he falls in love or is charmed by Alys Rivers.

4:55 I'm pretty definitely sure Larys found Blood so fast because it was one of "his" maids that spotted him and would've been able to describe/identify him (but not Cheese as she saw Blood specifically when they were split up); my immediate thought in ep1 was she definitely went to Larys instead of finding a guard because that is what he would instruct them all to do by default. This is probably the extent of his involvement/responsibility re: B&C imo, other than his staff purge possibly not helping with the lax security and subsequent chaos.

I was expecting the head to rip off the body when the wagon hit that rut. The exchange of pain in the eyes of Aegon and Helaena when they walked passed each other hurt my heart but the fight between Arryk and Erryk brought me tears. All the training they did for that scene paid off. 🤌 I was surprised by how few rat catchers were hanging from the walls and I'm bummed we didn't see Otto bring in the cats. I didn't expect to see Hugh the Hammer in such a sympathetic light considering his path. Do you think they are skipping Nettles in the show?
