I love how you can catch the moment he spies Vermithor was waiting for him too. You can't see Vermithor in that far out shot of Dragonstone but Aemond's eye is WIDE open as Vhagar starts riling up. He was hoping to take out Silverwing before Rhaenyra could use her but Vermithor alone could either outright defeat or at least stalemate Vhagar with both dragons dying. Add that to him expecting a 5v1 with Syrax, Silvering, Vermax and Moondancer in the mix and it actually being a 6v1 with Aemond not knowing Seasmoke also has a new rider, and for the first time since he claimed Vhagar he's like "oh, SHIT". Imagine if they'd done this at the start of the war before Daemon left for Harrenhal. Vhagar, Sunfyre and probably even Dreamfyre wouldn't have stood a chance against eight other dragons together. Nine if Rhaenyra didn't send Luke to Storm's End. Ten if Shrykos was large enough for Joffrey to ride like in the books. Use Vermithor and Silverwing to check Vhagar and Dreamfyre, assign Meleys to Sunfyre since Meleys is renowned for her speed, which is Sunfyre's only advantage in a swarm like this, have Caraxes use his wyrmlike body to latch onto Vhagar even with Vermithor in the way, have Syrax and Seasmoke going for Vhagar's wings, and have Vermax, Arrax, Shrykos and Moondancer solely going for Green riders in the hopes of preventing the dragons from fighting to the death, using their speed to stay out of the way of the titans.

Totally made up for the last episode! I was soooo hyped from start to finish 😁 I mean come ON we got Seasmoke being a loyal boi from the very start, quickly bonding & willing to defend Addam to the d-ath, Vermithor chomping him some leftovers, then Ulf (I called it when he fell into the pit, I hollered at my hubby he was gonna bump into Silverwing!) riding Silverwing like he was running from the popo, then we also had Daemon in a moral conundrum with the only ally he’s made in the Riverlands looking quite remorseful/dreadful that he’s gonna have to deliver justice, Oscar Tully having some gonads, then we also got to see Jace being a whiny baby 😂 so much happening 😊 I mean a lot of us know Jace is partly correct, however what choice does Rhaenyra have?? She’s right. She has no choice. And that closing scene was PERFECTION 👄 🤌🏻

@@retronerds6884 I think there’s a big difference between the circumstances actually. Corlys tried to arrange a marriage between their houses because Viserys had ignored all of his own Master of Ships’ needs for well over a decade, and while the marriage of Rhaenys Baratheon to Corlys brought the “genes to dragon ride” but more importantly, the permission to claim dragons, to house Velaryon, the relationship between the Velaryons and the Targeryans, as both being houses that fled Old Valeria before the doom, has still always been one with a major power imbalance. And Corlys felt like since they now had dragon rider genes through Rhaenys, there was little sound logic to deny the Velaryons access to marriage into the royal family, as the ability to ride dragons wouldn’t be damaged. And after their generations of fealty, the Velaryons have a genuine claim to feel deserving of marrying into the royal family and eventually having someone with their blood rule the kingdom. It’s grasping and calculating, motivated by power, yes. But Laena would deserve and eventually get a very high born marriage match anyways, regardless of whether it was Viserys or not, so why not reach a little bit? And to make her the queen consort, even before she had claimed Vhagar, was actually a reasonable and wise request of Corlys to make, and had Viserys agreed, the realm might not be at war. But while the little “date” (barf) in the gardens where Laena asked him about where the biggest unclaimed nuke may be hiding was revolting at face value, I think the point is that Alicent really, truly didn’t have a choice but to be made to seduce Viserys. Her dad told her “go do this you ugly duckling”, and Otto’s goals were really self-motivated. At least Corlys’s desires came from a genuine place of frustration at unrewarded, generational fealty, and the marriage would solidify the bond between two houses that need each other for survival. The Hightowers already have their own things going on, and their goals align with other organizations that seemingly don’t like dragons or magic, i.e. the maesters. Because sadly daughters were things to be given away for securing alliances, that’s just the way it was. Which is why I think the attitudes and motivations between the two fathers are accurate labels of non-pimp and pimp.

Larys didn't tell Aemond about the dragon sighting to screw him over. If Aemond had that information sooner, he might have kept Hugh and Ulf from leaving. Larys is pretty clearly moving against the guy who stymied his ambitions.

Only thing i didnt like about the ending was the size of the dragons. It just seems like the showrunners are portraying vaghar as THE only large dragon. Vermothir is supposed to be the next largest next to vaghar (almost same size) yet on that beach, he was the same size as syrax (mis-size). If they stayed true to size, vermothir alone would have covered that whole beach. Whole shot just seemed off.

There is nowhere to go with Alicent. There is nothing for her to do. Sending Silverwing to King's Landing was stupid. She should have kept the new dragons hidden and used them to surprise Aemon when he thought he had the advantage. Now he is going to have his guard up.

I do like that the Oscar Tully scenes showed some wisdom from Daemon. In his younger years, with Caraxes literally perched just out off camera he'd use him to threaten Oscar into praising him. But now, Daemon's putting up with the shots Oscar is firing because he knows he needs Oscar after realising the people of the Riverlands are willing to fight him, dragon or no dragon. And the only way Oscar can give Daemon what he wants is by allowing him win respect by worsening Daemon's already rock bottom reputation. Daemon loses nothing here, despite the blow to his ego.

Daemon's Silent hill moments are his redemption arc. He wanted it but didn't want the responsibility of governing. Now he will protect his family legacy over choosing his selfish desires. He also needed to learn that he needs to face his issues instead of running away.

I LOVED this episode, the red sowing was awesome, Ulf was hilarious running into the tunnels right into Silverwing. Was that a dragon flying over Alicent high up in the sky? That's what I thought when I was watching. Young Lord Tully was awesome too, the look on Daemons face as he was talking made me laugh. I'm sad though that next week is the season finale already. I don't want the show to end!!! I want more dragons and direwolves, where are the wolves at?
