That contract thing is strange but I guess it could be because the players contract ends around the end of the Swedish season but outside the Winter transfer window in Autumn-Spring seasons (the UEFA or FIFA rules decides that mid season window always is shorter so Swedish summer windows are smaller too, which means Swedish teams often lose players they can't replace as the transfer offers comes when the Swedish window have ended)

Donkor is actually good for your playstyle, defenders don't need to be technical (beyond tackling/marking/heading) if what you want is to punt the ball forward and outrun your adversaries
