So I can confirm that a short between the 3 pins is bad! And might result in fire. Just bought a used T16 pro that had clearly had this mod done. So glad I was messing about with it for over an hour, that way I noticed the burning smell and pulled the battery tray out to find the spring glowing like a cigarette lighter and holder all melted! No idea how it didn’t go up in flames before, can only assume I moved something JUST enough to complete the short while I had it apart trying to retrieve the stuck SD card :( sure enough was continuity between positive red and middle yellow balance wire. Good job on the video guys.

What usb-c cable should be used? I have noting that uses one. Not covered in your video is what is the charge current after the mod, not mentioned? Are there any indications the charger is charging and also end of charge? I have you kit on order.

Backslash is used for file locations on disk. FRONTslash is used for internet URL locations.

Now the question would be what is the amperage from the USB C, if it is over 0.5a you run the risk of damaging your batteries or the TX itself. Still prefer hot swapping the batteries and charging with an appropriate 18650 charger.

Overcharging isn't an issue because the charging circuit automatically stops when the pack is full.

Does it take quick charge? My phones quick charger that came with cell phone doesn't charge transmitter.. That charger suppose to offer up to I think 65w

Thanks guys great Vid as always. … I assume you would use a standard USB charger with a USB C cable and the 18650 batteries will be charged to max as you would if charging a phone or tablet. Is there a green/ red light on the new board to show charging status..

Switch the JumperT16 on or off while charging? When switched on, the inactive message constantly comes on. When switched off, the red LED on the USB socket does not light up. Wrong construction?

This might be a dumb question, but I only charge LiPo's on my R/C charger and I don't know of a way to connect a USB C cable to my charger. There is another video from GH saying that the charge rate on the 18650s needs to be low enough to get them fully charged and that some cheap chargers will charge too quickly and not fully charge them. Is the charge rate of a USB C connection fixed in some way that will ensure the batteries are charged fully, and what is the indication that they are fully charged? I'm assuming with a USB C cable that you would just plug into a computer UBS A port with a USB A to USB C cable, right? Unless you have a newer computer with a USB C port (which I don't). I realize that Jumper just came out with this new upgrade, but it would be nice to see that info added to the video on the upgrade. Left some of us "old" guys with questions. I'm sure all the young guys are just rolling their eyes. ;>)

I have the same concern. I want to be able to charge my t16 battery without having to remove it but how do you do that through a USB C? Will the USB connector still function normally?

Bert105 and Karl, your best option is to use a 2.1 amp cell phone charger or if you have USB 3.0 connector on your PC (it’s a blue connector) . I just ordered 2 of the Anker USB A to USB C 6 foot braided cables, they are a metal connector and very solid. I keep one at home and the other in my radio case, just so I can charge from the car, if I need to.

Same question someone asked: I just finished this mod with the kit purchased from your store. It all appears to be working but the led is white not red... It flashes when there is no battery plugged in and is solid when charging..but its just white... Anything wrong with that or is it ok?

Some of the newer Apple USB-C chargers will not work. The earlier iPhone and iPad chargers do work with a USB-C cable

I'm having an issue where I plug it in to charge and all seems well, then a couple hours later I come back an take off charger and try to boot up and the jumper will not turn on. It seems to think it still has USB connected. I unplug the red yellow black wire running from USB C board and then try to turn it on and it works. If I plug the red yellow black wire back into the board the jumper acts like I just plugged in USB and when I turn off and try to reboot it will not turn on. I am able to still use my Jumper with that wire unplugged, but now I don't have internal charging. Anyone else with similar issue?
