@@dannyfoley3477 I don't think so. I'm pretty sure Ricky Paull Goldin was the original Danny of this revival. Later, Adrian Zmed did perform in this role, but I think these videos are with Ricky.

As a Grease superfan since watching the movie and 2007 revival, this looks rather dull for a 90’s revival. Billy Porter looks different as Teen Angel even if this years before Kinky Boots. And what’s with the microphones during Summer Nights?

I definitely agree. This Broadway production (1994-1998) of Grease pretty much served as a stunt vehicle for the casting of a name celebrity in the role of Rizzo. Rosie O'Donnell, Brooke Shields, Linda Blair, Lucy Lawless, Sheena Easton, Maureen McCormick, etc Whoever played Danny and Sandy (or any of the other roles), you'd never know it from the publicity, the tv commercials and print ads promoting this production. It all highlighted who was cast in the role of Rizzo which always happened to be yet another Hollywood name.

I’m not the biggest fan of the show either, but this production did generally have a strong cast (if you ignore the miscasting of Rizzo). This show featured Sam Harris, Hunter Foster, Marisa Jaret Winokur, Megan Mullally, and various other folks who would become stars. Also, it’s not represented here, but at the beginning of the show Vince Fontaine would warm up the audience and invite people onstage to dance. It was really cool. I think this had a relatively strong run for a few years.

@@JohnDoe-gk7okagreed. The cast outside of Rizzo was packed. Also Sam Harris, Billie Porter, and although she didn’t do a lot more, I thought Susan Wood was a fantastic Sandy.

As much as I love the casting, I feel that this production missed the point of the show being a authentic look at the lives of working class kids during the 50’s and the authenticity of early rock and roll. That and the fact that the popularity (rightly deserved) of the movie overshadowed the show.
