I know full well that bird people have a totally different standard for what "loud" is lol and as a person thinking of getting a bird I wouldn't trust a video where someone was telling me a certain parrot was "quiet" where the parrot didn't make some kind of racket haha. The honesty is so helpful, the parrot at its worst is exactly what I need to hear in order to know whether I can handle it!! 😊

I’m glad you appreciate the honesty. A part of what I want to do is make sure people know what they are getting into with a parent. Yes, knowing what they’re like at their worst is super important! This is the time they might be at their best, but not always! Lol

You can absolutely tell he is loving being outside. He is a very pretty guy and you can tell he loves you.

I do love Pionus parrots. I’m glad to see more of them becoming available. There’s a lady around me that breeds them. She breeds white headed, Maximilian, blue crowned and bronze winged. I know she has a waiting list about a year long. I think thy are beyond cute with their chunky bodies. I actually find their vocalizations nice and I agree they are comparatively quiet. The blue headed I fostered years ago would call to me and make little parrot sounds. But, it was nothing compared to my Amazon. I also found the blue headed I fostered was happy to stay on his perch or cage and watch me. He didn’t need constant physical interaction. I completely loved your take on the Pionus. 💕

You know someone who breeds them? I feel like they are even rare here in Florida! Ale is one of my favorites- fantastic parrot. I’m surprised you didn’t keep the one you fostered- you probably had your Amazon- I don’t remember, think you told me. Anyway, I’m surprised they aren’t more popular- but maybe it’s because there aren’t many.

He was clipped when I got him last year - I’m trying to train him on a tether, but I’ve taken him out less now that he has started flying. Sorry about your brown-headed - I hear they are fantastic
