I've said it before, but it's worth repeating - the thing that elevates your videos well above every other art channel I've come across is how you present artistic works as not just the creation of single geniuses, but how they are made in collaboratiion and *conversation* with others. From long dead artists, to contemporaries, with partners and models.

Thank you 🙏
@rleague6852 ай бұрын
I agree. Brian Eno refers to this as "sceneius"; the idea that all artists in history that we call geniuses could only come from a time and place wherein collaboration, inspiration, and creative community support were strong.

Thanks to you I am beginning to understand why people are interested in art. Your way of explaining things, the context, shaping aspects in the biographies, reasons how and why those people and their art had and have an influence on society, what we can understand about societies through art - all those things help me understand! Because until now most people expect me to just feel how awesome art is but they don't explain in my language why art is awesome. But you do. So thank you very much! You open the door to letting art in my life.

Thanks for getting around to Man Ray. Just a thought: Man Ray had a knack for collaboration, as seen, for instance, in your presentation of his artistic collaboration with Kiki. He was a remarkable Dadaist in that respect. And, as your project presents him, he re-invented himself as an artist over and over again. And thanks (as always in your videos) for connecting his artistic life to the other artistic innovators of his time.
