Great day fishing Chesil beach at Abbotsbury

Well as most of you will know. Back over the August bank holiday, we made the trip down to Chesil. The fishing wasn't brilliant, in fact I wasn't going to post this video out, but unfortunately I'm struggling to get out fishing at the minute, but that's another story.
We had scorching hot weather, despite the strong breeze, so fishing in shorts and T shirt wasn't and issue.
I know I say this often, but fishing isn't all about the fish, it's about getting out there, enjoying the scenery, the weather, and the experience. There may have been no fish to report, but this is a trip that will live a long time in my memory. The first fishing session with Jack.
Get out there make memories, hopefully you can catch some fish, take care of yourselves and tight lines!

This is the best fishing content. This is what fishing really is, it's not about catching a lot of fish, it's about having an excellent and happy day. Enjoy every second of this day and the next days like this with the dogs, wife, son and fishing rods in the water. Fishing rods don't even matter, they're just an excuse to have a great day. Enjoy every one of these seconds, in 30 years you will miss them and would love for them to happen again.

@theawfulangler this is exactly what I thought. I have recently got an estate car. Its bigger than my previous audi a3 but I don't think it has that much room in the back for me and my brother to sleep in the back with all the stuff in. If we ever go that means we need to stay there atleast for few days. This is the thing that is preventing me from committing myself. I think probably holderness coast and Liverpool side is probably the most practical thing for us. Mersey can produce some good codlins in winter however for the last three years its been absolutely shit.

@mumtazzafar5696 I've slept in all sorts of places and conditions. You can sometimes find very basic accommodation for £20/night which is sometimes better than cramping in the car. But if I were you I'd keep an eye on Facebook marketplace for a cheap roof box for trips like that. Pack everything in the roof box and leave the back to sleep in

@theawfulangler good idea m8. Thanks for the reply. Please keep uploading the videos. I just saw a video on KZbin about fishing at saltwick bay. It's near whitby. Looks like a good mark but also very snaggy. I'll probably try it this winter as it is exactly the same distance as withensea or Easington from Bradford. If you ever decide to go there, check the tide first, I think on a big tide you could get cut off pretty seriously.

@theawfulangler yes, i remember the ' Nightmare drive' after getting off the M5. ( drove through the night once many moon's ago) shocked my Auntie who lives on portland (Weston) theres a butifull beach on portland ( little beach ) its ( or was ) tucked away and known mainly by residents. I'm not sure how it fishes, but can find out. 🤔 ( It's a little secluded cove but lot's of steps down to it. ) 👍

We had a drive around portland, it looks like some of the roads have been blocked off to stop tourists from doing a loop down some of the tighter roads. So didn't see the whole island (we did a tourist lap 😅) but from what I did see I'd love to spend a week on there with some lures

Im really into my lures at the moment ( even bought some 'micro' gear for course fishing ) and if memory serves me right, ill bet that area would have great potential for the lures in Summer.
