I was the first owner of this boat. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. I spent many nights in the aft cabin. She does track like an arrow! Down below, the rack above the sink was painstakingly custom crafted by my father-in-law. I’m glad to see it’s intact. She was called Cahoots. And I loved her.

This is the best Sail Boats for Sale (sail) listing and over all reviews and educational channel I have found on KZbin! Getting ready to retire and return to the sea after decades of missing one of the loves of my life, with the love of my life. This channel is helping me find the boat I am looking for by listing here and helping me know what to look for elsewhere. Thanks for what you are doing for all of us. Praying for your health and happiness. God Bless you and Randy. Respectfully

I was the listing seller for this boat and had I owned her for nearly ten years prior to being forced to list her. During nearly the entire time I had her she was kept in much better , near Bristol shape but unfortunately unlike the spry Captain Q -- I could not climb the ladder to get aboard her when she was on the hard (She draws near 7' of water and is a good 12-15 feet up there to do winter maintenance. ( when I purchased her I brought her up myself from a marina on the CT river to Hawthorne Cove Marina in Salem by myself -- via the Cape Cod canal. I was forced to sell her as I'm getting up there and had several back operations resulting from degenerative disk and the brite work was going to hell and the yard guys were slathering on antifouling without properly prepping it. The black showing through is the flag coat and she certainly needed a soda blasting. When Captain Q graciously decided to tour her I had by then moved to FLA -- aka God's waiting room and I had to part with her ( for a song as it were) and sadly I wasn't there to leave the traditional bottle of vino and stew for them. Could not have gotten up there anyway. Finally, she was way in there as she had spent two seasons on the hard under shrink wrap as I decided not to launch my final year in New England. HCM which has very little real estate is notorious for packing them in there as tight as possible as they have a very very nice mooring field and a top notch set of launch people. Many memories when Captain Q was standing behind 'Bounce" one of their launches-- I'm delighted to report I've been in touch with the new young couple that bought her and they have renamed her 'Altair' ( she's also a USCG documented boat BTW) I ended up sending them the Chelsea Chronometer that I had removed while looking for a new battery for it so that round spot next to the barometer on the teak bulkhead -- in gratitude they sent me my foulies and my size 12 boots and my Mustang PFD/harness and some oil lamps I had on board. I am deeply ashamed she appeared she was in such a messy state/neglected state when the Captain toured her -- but he saw she was a princess in distress and found a good new home for her.

Back in the day when we bought a C&C 25 for racing we had two friends who competed head to head in new, bright yellow sloops. One was an Erickson 37 while the other was a Morgan 36T. We all raced PHRF and those two boats were always way ahead battling for line honors. They traded off, so while the Morgan was good in light to moderate air, the Erickson prevailed in the heavy stuff. It was an interesting summer.

Be still my heart! I saw the Pacific Seacraft 31 designed by WIB Creelock at a boat show right around the time the first one was made, 1987. It was my dream boat! In the real world, I wasn't going to go anywhere at anytime so, that passagemaker wasn't ever a possibility. Practically, a much more spacious below, older, comfy cruiser was more what I'd consider. I had no idea Pacific Seacraft made a boat like this one. If I liked to sail solo anywhere close to as much as Christian Williams, I'd be writing a check. I did see his sail to Hawaii video long ago but, it looked like torture to me. I don't need crew to help sail, it's just a witness I need. Strange, I can be alone on land just fine but, sailing alone is a nonstarter. Thanks again for all of your videos!

I like Amel's way of using a single sea chest with a manifold for all raw water needs. (This discounts the perforations for the log and the bow thruster.) Having a bung secured near each through hull is a must.

I like that the head is next to the companion as then you don’t have to walk through the whole boat in your wet foulies to get to the toilet when on watch. Salt water in the main cabin is so hard to get rid of while voyaging

Capt. Q! We exchanged emails a little while ago when I asked if you were going to do a review of any Ericson sailboats. I own a Ericson 32-3 in Annapolis and was very interested in seeing the life of the 32s after Ericson went out of business that being it’s reincarnation as the PSC 333. Similar to my boat but still different. Some things I liked on it and other things I like more on my E32. All in all I found it a very interesting video.

@@YachtHunters Thanks for the tip Randy. I had watched a few of his videos but then gone back to sailors or cruisers sailing in warmer waters. Living in Northern Ireland, it's warm waters that I yearn for. I didn't recognise the boat, so I'll pay closer attention in future. When I've had enough sun, I will explore northern and southern latitudes, which is why I'm leaning towards the sorts of boats that you're featuring. Christian Williams is one of my favorite KZbin Sailors, no T&A, no soft porn poses designed to drive clicks, just sailing enjoyment and education. Captain Q is becoming one of my favorites as well, even though no actual sailing is involved, yet. Cap'n, this is a remarkable little boat, it really is a 40' packed into 32'. There is so much to love about this boat and the heritage of a Pacific Seacraft, it will sell quickly at this price. I am usually hard on boat design but this one ticks so many boxes for perfection.

I had an Ericson 27 and and Ericson 38..love both of them in SF Bay. Very seaworthy and stiff. With just a little TLC (2 weekends?) she would come up like new. Love the layout. I think the quarter head is the way to go for cruisers of this length. A forward head simply eats up too much valuable real estate. You lose a small quarter berth. Big deal!!! It also means the midwatch doesn't have to stumble through the entire boat to take a leak, waking up everyone.

I think you should draw a line between a real cruising sailboat and a fun day sailor or weekender. This one could be a fun weekender.

I have no doubt I would have found a different boat but, I envy the life he lived when Dave Martin extensively sailed a Cal 25. He spent 2 years rebuilding and then 7 years sailing adding, wife Jaja, son Chris and daughter Holly along the way. As soon as you label one a day sailor, somebody is going to see it as more..

How many of those "boats on stilts hoping to be loved again" do they have in that boatyard? Are they all for sale? If they are, you may need to make another visit!

You might check with a transport broker and see what they would charge to haul it. We've heard some of the rates are quite good for cross-country.... could be worth it.... or not :)

Nice boat and price. I can see myself at the helm of this one... oh wait, I’ve thought that about most of the boats you’ve featured. I either have a boat addiction or you’re doing a great job of showing the boats! My wife would agree on the addiction, I believe it’s both. 😆
