I truly believe GEC makes the nicest production slip joints. I love Case but these just have something extra.

Rob, please re-visit some of these old traditionals! I’d personally love to hear you ramble on about your fondness of an old edc of yours, about what’s caught your eye in the traditional world, or about what’s been hogging pocket time.

Great vid sir! Getting into the slippies myself. Sort of a revival with them right now it seems. Glad to see it. Keep the videos coming!

Bravo Buddy. CONGRATS!!! You couldn't have picked a finer example for a long lost classic made by GEC. For those viewers who don't know, your lookin' at a knife that hasn't been made since the 1880's. ( Unless I missed some in research.) How cool is THAT? ( GEC made a small run in 3 handle materials for 2 gentlemen who partnered up & brought the old JBF Champlin trademark back from the grave & immediately made the GEC versions after completing the contract knives for these fellas.) You got the tang numbers right. ( Close on the secondary blade. That's a coping blade, but hey, WHO CARES? LOL.) All GEC knives are built to the same tolerances & quality, but "most of the time", only the Northfields have all the bell & whistles. ( Some GEC's & Tidioutes are tricked out too!! ) Well done Brother Rob, she's a real beauty!!!

My #92 in Northfield Camel Bone is on order. Can't wait. It'll take my GEC lineup from 3 to 4. You're dead right, the day just feels that bit better when you've a GEC in your pocket. Truth be told, I prefer a spear over a clip on a general use pocket knife. I've the perfect combo though - a #81Bull Moose in Tidioute red linen micarta - 3 inch spear and 3 inch clip opening from opposite ends - that knife can do anything! With you in Our Father In Heaven - God's blessings.

classic beauty! I heard you in there talking to me at the end. Comparing the main blade to a Cadet, you knew what you were doing : )

This is coming out in a single blade option soon! Preorders are up. Spear or wharnie.
@TheApostleP10 жыл бұрын
Interesting! If it were available in spear only when I bought this, I would have gone that way. I'm not a particular fan of the small coping blade -- not much utiity for me, and gets in the way of the grip for the main blade.

I can't get myself to buy or carry a two blade option. Maybe a peanut! That's it....and I checked around they might be making a micarta version bullnose soon (limited run) again! I love some green micarta.
@TheApostleP10 жыл бұрын
That would be a must have! However, Campfiretalk will be pretty disappointed when he sees it, since he bought a black one, and he is THE green knife guy... LOL!

The writing on the blade has faded away completely after playing with it for a week. 🤦♂️ It also has a little side to side play on both blades.
