What I like about this scenario, is that Japan was able to easily defeat the Soviets in the first years, thanks to the well-prepared army and an uncontested naval domination in the Sea of Okhotsk. However, at the same time, Red Army penetrated into China and eventually reorganised, leading to a massive breakthrough against Japan, with the help of the Chinese Communists and to a lesser extent the Kuomintang. In the end, the war was a massive success for the Soviet Union, which strengthened the Internationale and weakened the Imperial Bloc, showing that the old powers began to falter.

What also has to be noted: Japan invaded during the Great Purge. So surely initially USSR was weakened. But then Stalin must have ended it and released arrested military commanders, which strengthened the Red Army

@@BartlomiejDmowskiIn this timeline, it’s likely the Great Purge was to a much smaller extent or never happened because Stalin likely has less power here. According to lore, Mikhail Kalinin took the mantle of being the true ruler of the USSR, not Stalin, but he remained General Secretary. Perhaps this was one of the reasons why the USSR was able to defeat Japan?

I really liked this scenario. The casualties were half those on the pacific front in our history. But I also think these casualties are too high, at least for the Russians. The Japanese were expert in raids and warfare against unsupplied enemies but they were horrible in large scale land conflict as was seen in the 1945 Manchurian campaign or the conflict between the USSR and Japan in 1938 and 1939.

It's possible that the Japanese had been supported by the Germans through weapons training and officer training, helping their army fight larger land wars.

1:11 Man, your lore is mind-blowing! It's so well-done. I mean, I'm trying to find controversies, but no, the geopolitical conditions causing the geopolitical consequences go very well with each other. I had questions about how did Germany not defend Japan and how did the war stop north of Seoul. And now I see, why. And it all makes sense. I haven't seen any alternate history mapping series done so good. Have you read "Imperialism as the highest stage of Capitalism" by Lenin? You're definitely the best mapper I know.

My grandpa who was the member of azad hind volunteer Brigade he was sent to the city of Yatuskh if i remember correctly he was kind to civilians he later defected to the soviets and settled in yakutia in 1960s he was murdered reason was he distrusted by people of obvious reasons later in the same year my grandfather's brither immgrated to India

The Empire of Japan wasn't an absolute monarchy as this video would suggest. It was a parliamentary democracy with various political parties that all appeared after the Meiji Restoration, and gradually increased in importance after the promulgation of the Meiji Constitution. They had a Prime Minister with a legislator known as the National Diet. The Emperor served more or less as a figurehead or a figure to rally behind.

Hmm, I would like to raise few things 1. Ah, so it seems that Stalin ended Great Purge shortly after it began. Blücher avoided execution, similarly goes for Stern. Does it mean they would survive? Maybe yes, I doubt that it wouldn't be resumed one day, however 2. Japanese armies escaping from encirclements? Bahaha. Fleeing Japanese is one of the most unrealistic things to hear 3. Would USSR really invade all of China? Fun fact, in real life Stalin pressed Mao to make truce with Kuomintang. Also, what's interesting: Chiang actually had good relationship with Stalin and Stalin liked Chiang more than Mao. So let me repeat my doubts if Stalin would make USSR invade Kuomintang-held territories. 4. Unconditional surrender? Another bahaha. Why? With no core Japanese lands occupied? Without atomic boms (I'll never believe that in this universe, USSR managed to develop them by 1943)? Adding to this Japanese mindsets? Pure nonsense 5. It feels kinda weird to hear "On the Hills of Manchuria". I meanz yes, somehow fits, but at the same time... it is a song of Imperial era. And I always connected it rather to the White Army Stalin's portrait is a lovely touch, however.
