And if the bus driver yelled at anyone of us on the bus it's because we were being too loud. Plus where I live the buses have cameras on them for this specific reason. My children rode the bus and now my grandchildren ride the bus.

@bitnerknees24824 Well where I'm from elementary kids don't get picked on, on the school bus because they ride separate from the middle and high school students. And also the parents/ parent has to be at the bus stop to put the children/ child on the bus and they have to be at the bus stop to get the child off of the bus. And our buses are equipped with camera's. So in my neck of the woods we would be looking at the recording from that camera on the bus and see if the bus driver really did yell at them and if so was it because they were being disruptive or not. And kids around here like riding the school bus because they get to see their friends on the bus. And something is wrong where you live if it's NOT recommended for the children to ride the school bus and it kinda sounds like it's not recommended for the children to even go to public school where you're from either. If it's that bad on the bus I can't imagine what it's like in the school. If the buses there are not equipped with camera's maybe you all should do a fund raiser.

We have buses where it's just elem students. But if u don't live in the schools districts then u have to ride to a middle school and switch over to a bus that goes out that way. Which is normally a bigger kid bus. And I say this bc my sister actually lives out of the city limits and her 7 year old had to do that a couple yrs ago and a middle schooler walked up to him. Grabbed his glasses called them ugly and broke them in half. Obvi the student was seen on camera But that doesn't stop the trauma for the kid that had to still go thru that. So yes they would prefer all parents to pick their kids up from school bc no matter where u live in this world, esp in today's time. There will be bullies somewhere.

Not true exactly.... When I was a kid we had very mean bus drivers. My bus driver yelled if u put ur face against the window. If chewed gum. If u was reading a book or pulled anything out of ur back pack. She never smiled and always talked to ppl smart assy even if it was a 6 year old girl. We had assigned seats. We wasn't allowed to pull the window down. And by assign seats she chose who set by window. Middle and outside. She took her job in a "I have power over these kids" a little to much. Idk any parent who wasn't atleast outside cussing her out 3 times in the school year. So yes some bus drivers needs to be monitored a little more. If the kids are that rowdy and misbehaved then they need to have a helper ride in the back of the bus. Yelling at kids like that isn't okay regardless of how loud they are.

Who made the most noise. our bus driver also had a paddle that he'd use to threaten the kids. I've never seen him use it on a kid but he did point it at a few or used it against the side of the bus to quite us down. Which was never that loud. Being an adult I know he was just trying to keep the chaos down but pulling out a whole wooden paddle made specifically for whippins felt a bit much.

Yeah, no. Because of this reason, I got in contact with the bus barn manager and switched my kids to a different bus, one that isn't driven by an abusive bully. He told my kindergartener that she deserves the other kids picking on her and making her cry, and told me to my face that she's clearly too "slow" to understand anything. Bro, she was 5 years old and it was the first week of school.. He also bullied my son, and his friend, asking them if they were going to "cry like the ladies they are", when they complained about being bullied by other kids on the bus, and did nothing when my son's phone was stolen by one of them. Due to bus driver shortages, that driver still has his job, but my kids certainly won't be on his bus anymore. They love their new bus driver, and she doesn't allow bullying on her bus. From what I understand, after a formal investigation took place, the other bus driver has had a small change in attitude. Go figure. I guess enough parents got sick of his crap finally.

Notice how the driver said the word "please" as she told the child to be seated? She's actually teaching them manners the whole time. Also, she waited for the child to sit before driving. It's sad the driver is really good, but gets in trouble from over protective mother who wants to make rude comment first thing in the morning. We need more context. Were the kids misbehaving on the bus? I rode the bus growing up and the things I’ve seen kids do while the bus is in motion is wild. If my child was compromising their safety on the bus, then the bus driver yelling at them would be completely fine by me. Shit I’d yell at them when they got off the bus as well. Some of you can’t even control your own kids throwing a tantrum in the car imagine a bus full of them.

Respectfully, school bus drivers are not government employees. Usually a school district contract a bus company like First Student. However, this driver was way out of line and probably only be reprimanded, it's hard to keep school bus drivers, so they are hesitant to let them go.

My sister and I are half African American and half Navajo. Our bus driver use to drop us off in the weeds instead of the bus stop and call us racial slurs. When my dad found out that bus driver lost his job. You have to stop this bus driver from abusing your kids immediately because I will always remember and love my dad for standing up for us. Some people believe serving the public means you're a slave and have to deal with people's abuse. I'm so sure the bus driver wants to listen to screaming rowdy kids while she's driving. Teacher you are wrong. The bus driver does not have the right to discipline the students. They can report them. Sometimes the bus is the only transportation a parent has to get their kids to school. I drove a bus. I know how disrespectful kids can be but that didn't give me the right to yell at them. I had parents to meet me at the bus with request. I listened and thanked them and if I could I would take care of it. That bus driver needs another job.

They probably got yelled at because they were acting up on the bus. I rode the bus all 12 years of school, didn’t get my drivers license until I turned 18 the last month of my senior year. My mom and dad would have told me I better listen to the bus driver and if I had caused any problems I would have gotten a belt on my a$$ when I got home. Kids these days are too coddled.

That's usually the case but I've had a bus driver who would yell at everyone on the bus just for minor things and hated her job. It's true that there were a few troublemakers on the bus but there always are...and I've seen other bus drivers handle it better than she did. I was the quietest kid who hardly ever got in trouble and I got yelled at for talking when we stopped at the train tracks. This bus driver wanted complete silence when we would stop at the train tracks which is no easy feat for a bus load of kids (I've known plenty of bus drivers who could hear with kids talking as long as you aren't shouting). And I would try to remember to stop talking but I was a lackdaisal kid and wasn't always aware of my surroundings. And I wasn't loud but unfortunately I was in the front so the bus driver could always hear me even when I talked low. Well that day the bus driver appararently had enough and yelled at me for talking although I hadn't even realized we were at the train tracks. Then when we got to school she sent me and my friend and a few other students to the office. What's funny is the kid who was literally the worst troublemaker on the bus stuck up for me cause he even thought I wasn't even doing anything wrong. And then we got to the office and waited and the principal came out and let me and my friend go and gave us passes for class. Because even they didn't think we did anything wrong. What sucked was that my friend didn't want to talk to me on the bus after that cause she didn't want to be in trouble. But that was really the only time we could talk cause I didn't share classes with her. And I had few friends. So yeah I get that kids are annoying and I have seen how bad the troublemakers can get but a few bus drivers are actually horrible and probably shouldn't be transporting kids.
