Removing some low grade stone off the top of the main Ocean Picture Stone seam, I get surprised with some top quality premium stone, where I did not expect it. That is one surprise I am happy to have.

O.P.S. content is amzing and i cant get enough of it. Geodes and such (like that star shaped stone) or the jade hunting is for me not so interesting but i still watch it. Just not so excited about it. Gold is gold, its what brought me here but it has drifted in my excitement scala behind the O.P.S. Everyone has their own favourite im sure. All in all, Dan is managing to cover a big amount of different things so i think we all get satisfied and we all probably learned alot about everything that he shows us which i find is the cherry on top of the entertainment that he provides

I really enjoyed the real aspect of Prospecting Dan showcased in this video. He did not sugarcoat that using the feather and wedges is the easiest method. He also let us know his personal opinions about the larger feather in the ledges, which is very nice because between the 6 inch and 58 inch they are definitely going to be differences. I also enjoy how passionate Dan is with his content, not just because he is selling this as well, but he is truly content and passionate about what he is doing. So thank you again for all that you do for the community even though you’re also a very savvy business person. Cheers.

Hi Dan, have you ever thought of using a portable concrete saw ? It's a radial saw that is powered by a two -stroke engine. The blade can be carbide or diamond and makes easy work of cutting blocks or slabs, just add water and go !! I can tell you more, if you want...! Love your videos !!!

Im sure you have gotten tons of comments about using the feather wedges. If I may, using more holes between the boreholes you are using for the wedge. They dont have to be the bigger holes, a series of smaller holes along the line where you want the break to go the crack will follow the drilled holes,,,,, mostly ;)

Seen something similar to your ocean picture stone in a couple of small mines and outcrops around the Mount Isa area in Northwest Queensland, Australia. Nothing like the huge veins you have though. Also noted chalcedony veins while doing excavations and cuts around the Gladstone and Rockhampton areas in Eastern Queensland though most were more green from Nickel contamination. Area North of Rockhampton is noted for Chrysoprase deposits.

I know you didn’t have much time but in order for you to let the wedges do their job drill 3-4 different sets to break out install your wedges and go from one to the other driving them in by the time you get back to the first set you will have allowed time for the wedges to do their job😬 I also can’t state enough ho much easier it would be to use a 14 inch diamond hand held saw especially on the bottom to great a 5” thick cut so the rock comes of in a chunk instead of spalling away to a sliver. But it’s your claim in the end lol if I was closer I’d bring my demo saw (14”husqvarna ) and show you what a difference it would make. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼

Dan I watched a video a while ago, on an alternative to blasting. Its something that expands as it cure fracturing the rock. I think its called expando. I saw it on demolition dave blasting and drilling you tube channel. I dont know what the laws are in Canada for using this stuff or if you need other permits. But the way it looks you could start large pieces come back later and feather and wedge them smaller

Like you said about the feather & wedges, a good working technique is to hit them lightly many times and wait between. If you ever watch quarry men split marble or granite that is how they do it. Along with tight spacing between sets it helps to pop the stone where you want. It is nice for them they typically work in solid stone, not so for the OPS. The hammer you have is probably just about right. However for improved cleavage I think the thing that needs to get bigger is our patience. You were just having too much fun while making this video with a tight schedule, to take the time to drill more holes and wait between passes for the rock to cleave where you want.
