Great Grade YELLOWFIN TUNA | The San Diego Full Day Offshore Trip Sept 2023

Fun end of summer sportfishing action continues... Full Day Offshore trip on The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, California on September 12th, 2023. The target is always Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail & Dorado while fishing offshore approximately 30 to 40 miles out to sea. Ya Main Man Dan almost missed the boat but came prepared with the good luck vibes. Big thanks to The San Diego crew for working hard to put us on & help us catch these beautiful fish.

I agree, The San Diego is a solid boat all around. Always so pumped right before the trip cuz you know what's instore 🤙🏼 They did reel well yesterday limits style fishing so things are looking good 👍🏼 Lately I've been big on the Okuma Azores spinning reels, they're relatively cheap & pack major power on big game. I have it paired with a 9' Okuma Longitude 20-40 rod for throwing the popper & have another setup for flyline on a 7' Ocean Master 30-50. They get the job done. Good fishing for sure. I bought the rod @ the Kobey's Swap meet by Sports Arena, not sure the guys name but he's there every week. This year is going to be my first year going tuna fishing in SD whats the best months to go?

The last few years have been good for Bluefin Tuna early in the season starting in late March extending deep into the year while the Yellowfin Tuna have been showing up late July-ish. I would say the best months to fish for Tuna would be June July & August when the volume of fish is larger on the offshore banks. If that's an Owner hook, yes. Mutu Circle hooks size 2 & 4 will work for Yellowfin Tuna 🤙🏼

Throwing the Clear Choice Ghost 130 on this trip and several others. Very effective on Yellowfin Tuna boils last year... I can't wait to do it again. Thank you for commenting & checking out the video 🤙🏼
