These are the most straight to the point production tutorials I've come across. And believe me, I've watched plenty. Keep up your nicely narrated pace of informative pro tips. The niche ones are EVEN better since they're the icing on these yummy videos and really add to a deeper insight of the DAW. Just know that you are due for a nice youtube count due to your quality. Cheers to you, by standing out from the bunch :)

This sounds really good for me. I've been looking for half decent vocal FX for ages. Been using African Singers etc - with less than satisfactory results. Thanks, will check out Alchemy. Like you I've been using Logic for a couple of years now but have not ventured much past ESX24 for vocal FX. Cheers

You should also go to 'Edit' under the sampler and then change POLY to 1 voice instead Max... you'll get the true MPC style sampling AND to cut out the clicks--slice it and use fades.. it'll solve the problem right there

Can you help? When I open up a new software instrument track, I'm not given the option to choose the instrument like you did at 1:58. All these vocal samples were made for Alchemy when it was owned by Camel Audio (before Apple bought them), and the Alchemy synth is doing a bit more than just playing the samples back. Anyway, that's why those samples aren't in amongst the Apple/ Garageband loops. It's like how all the Ultrabeat and EXS24 samples aren't in the Apple Loops folders (unless you put them in there).
@MixedByTheAcademy7 жыл бұрын
Damn ok that makes sense, but even if they don't put them amongst the loops they never even made a patch for Alchemy with them that actually utilized them. I think my problem with Logic's use was its inability to use a tool that was actually useful. Their implementation was lazy and very quiet.

Dude! Thanks for the tip and your track is really dope. The sound you got there I consider to be in the chill/beautiful category. This is the sound I'm going for. You could flesh that out into a really cool Odesza style track and have it do well on its own. Oh and one more thing. The term "beat" diminishes a composition or sound recording to just something that a rapper is supposed to rap over. Let's start calling them works of art or compositions. Stay dope my friend.

@Nobs6067 жыл бұрын
Tried to do this now but the fairy preset doesn't seem to be in my alchemy. Any guesses/answers as to why?
@MixedByTheAcademy7 жыл бұрын
You just might not have all the patches installed in alchemy, It's no biggie though you can still find the actual folder of samples still. And to install all the patches go to that main top bar: Logic Pro X --> sound library--> Open sound library manager --> make sure the alchemy libraries are checked. Hope that helps man

You should be able to download them, just go to logic pro x at the top left of your screen, go to sound library and the sound library manager. Then just make sure you have downloaded the entire alchemy sound library. If you do already have it I would just find the folder of samples that I show later in the video. I hope that helps

5:22 "I don't know why my audio always clicks and pops" Have you tried going to Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio > Devices > I/O Buffer Size and changing your sample rate to a higher value. Obviously setting it too high may put too much strain on your CPU/RAM. I have mine set at 256 and I don't think I've ever noticed any clicks or pops (Running MBP 2016 / 16GB RAM) Or, if that doesn't change anything, it could just be due to the audio file changing pitch artificially. (Not sure if you only hear "clicks and pops" from this audio file or others too) I hope I could help you in some way too! Thanks for the video. I am your 1000th subscriber :)

actually its the opposite. the higher the value the less strain on cpu/ram. the lower, the more it has to work.
