I've haven't bought cards in over 30+ years till recently. Started with the Greatest Duos (need five to finish that set and proudly, all of them were pulled). One thing I've noticed with cards today is that there are way too many insert variations. Feels like click bait thumbnails or shiny lures.

@DiggIt-j5d There are so many parallels and inserts...it's hard to keep track. There's way more player collectors these days than the old school set collectors so UD just cranks them out.

If you're getting back into the hobby, stick with the big 3. Young guns, Future watch autos and OPCP. The Cup is too expensive and not worth ripping ever since they doubled the price of a box. Every other product is just a gimmick sadly.

I got back into cards with the thanks of Tim Hortons and their Duos set. Boy did that open a can of worms. My wife and I had a lot of fun opening a couple hundred packs. Now I need to find five cards to finish. I've been lucky to find a local comic/card shop that has been helpful and generous with getting me into Upper Deck 21/22 set. 80 cards to finish the base for that. The prices are insane for higher end and anything to do with 23/24. I don't know anything about future watch. Pricing and pulls are good. I've cracked some opc platinum and metal universe blasters that were price at 20 CAD a price from Walmart. If the boss man is cool with it, I can drop the name of the little shop that has looked after me. 2nd generation family business.
