GREAT PDM Herod Clone! - Alhambra Hercules Review

I bought Alhambra because I have the old batch of Herod and don’t wanna use it up. This is a good review I compared them side by side and Herod has creamier tobacco opening where I get a spicy oud in Alhambras opening . Yes I also smell the florals in the mid but the dry down is extremely close . I am happy I bought this one ! I am a collector also but I stick to my favorites . I can’t see my self buying any niche fragrances that I don’t already have . Clones work for me because I can leave my collection alone and where a similar fragrance that is cheaper on more occasions !

@@tinnong24h64 At first when I got this one it was heavier in the opening with alcohol, the performance was 5 hours and decent silage . Now after it had time to macerate the alcohol smell dies down in the opening, It performs 7 good hours and the silage is similar to that of Herod’s it is decent but nothing crazy . However for 20 dollars you can reapply without feeling guilty .

Regarding quality of dupers all the youtubers are saying something like "it´s more budget friedly", "not as refined", blabla - I´m always wondering if you guys are just saying this because you know that you´re holding the 10% price clone in your hands. What would you guys say if the clone was the original, would you then praise it for the high quality ingridients or would you still say they smell a bit cheaper and more synthetic? No offense at this point, but this is what I see in all the clone reviews. I have Herod, I have Layton, and I just got a Layton clone, and I have to admit, side by side they are somewhat different, but if I didn´t know I could not tell you which is the more expensive original.

@@ManwithScents i want this Hercules so much, but i already got some of Maison Alhambra and they are rly bad.. like they are so soft.. i bought tuscano leather, 12/2022 batch and its weak. I bought Amber and Leather 01/2023 batch and its weak, i had a decant of Hercules and it lasted like 3 hours but the smell is so good man. The only one that has rly good performance is Tabac, rly good one, stays on clothes for weeks. I want to buy Hercules because i think this would be my signature scent. It love it, but i dont wanna spend money again for some scented water :(

I have this maison Alhambra Hercules, you should mecerated it a bit to get the best results. To me, this is not really close to herod. It does have this herod vibe, it's already good on its own. I'm already buy another bottle and make it macerated more.

Got mine yesterday even without maceration I got really good longevity with nice sillage. So it's a really good fragrance for the price

Must say, kudos to the lights behind the back of the bottles. What a difference it makes and livens it up. Nice and subtle! Not only am I more convinced Hercules is solid and worthy to getting rather than the $$ other but I like the set up. I never paid that much attention til just now.

Herod is not the same as it used to be, lacks it's past performance, so i would say it's been reformulated and is definitely NOT beast mode by a long shot.....

Wear it several times and then let it sit for 2 months and the performance will be better. Happened to me as well. Pissed with performance and didn't wear it for a few months then just used it and I got like 9 hours with it. Basically let some oxygen into bottle let it sit for a little bit and that kinda fixes the performance issue. It's not as beast mode as it once was but it's not as bad as everybody leads it to be.

I own this fragrance. It is nice for sure. But I feel it is to heavy in the mid (Labdanum I think). Throws the balance off a bit. Also I get a big dusty musk through the opening all the way through. Less Labdanum and more tobacco spice would make this VERY good imo.

Had this one a few months now. To me this smells close to Guerlain Lhome Ideal Extreme a little. Haven’t smelled the OG but this is a good scent on its own.

Sprayed it on my skin at 1PM and it was very weak/gone by 3PM. If you have smelt Herod; you will be disappointed by this in terms of smell, performance & quality.

Hey Dallas there's a clone of Herod by Armaf I don't know if you have seen it yet or heard about it but it came out sometime last year and it's called radical Brown or radical but you should pick that one up and try that one that one's a great clone of Herod as well And my scent of the day is Roja Elysium Parfum

You’ve been on point lately!!!! Except with detour noir, for me anyway it’s ok especially with the dry down but the opening is crazy synthetic and really off from Layton kinda lemon/ ripe gauava like smell really off putting!!! But in the dry down (20-30 min) it’s 90-99% Layton!!!!

Could be batch. I have both and my Detour Noir is actually smoother than my batch of Layton. My Layton batch has a stronger menthol opening than my buddy’s bottle and it’s a little off putting. My Detour Noir is literally a spot on as to my buddy’s bottle of Layton. It has that green apple/mint balance on point.

It’s better than my bottle of Layton because the opening on my Layton has too much menthol that comes off like Biofeeeze literally for the first 20-30 min. lol I wear my Detoir Noir 9/10 times compared to reaching for my Layton. And not because it’s cheaper to replace. But because it literally smells better on the opening.

This smells wonderful but when I tried it the longevity and projection wasn’t there. That being said I only tried it once after I got it, so I’m going to let it mature/macerate for a few weeks and I’m hoping it gains some strength.

@@skyrimfun333 it’s good, tried it a few days ago and I would say longevity is around average to above average. One of my favorite clones, especially for the price. Doesn’t smell cheap and has a great scent profile. Got better with maturity.

This isn't that close to Herod if you ask me. Significantly more sweet, from the very opening. Sugary to almost caramelized sugar sweetness from the beginning and it stays there pretty much all the way. To me this is more similar to something in line of Raghba Wood Intense for example than it is a Herod clone.

Can't go wrong with explorer. Smells like creed, it's cheap and overall a great fragrance. Only drawback would be a lot use creed, or club de nuit, which smell like explorer although explorer is a little more different than the other 2

Both are different and both are great! Layton is a creamy fruity scent whereas Herod is a creamy tobacco-based scent!

I guess that you haven't tried Armaf's Radical Brown, another Herod clone that's been out for a year or two now. I'd imagine it's still dirt cheap so you should see how it and Hercules compare? BTW, Hercules is set to arrive here tomorrow I do believe.

@@elig1014 it is so darn good if you like tobacco fragrances. It has a bit of cinnamon spice type vibe but way mild compared to something like Amber Oud Tobacco. I really like it because of that spicy sweetness it brings. If it's still around and I run out, I will buy another bottle.

I have Hercules And Radical Brown. Hercules is Very Smooth and is Almost Herod minus the dry down. The Brown is less like Herod but has a dry down you won’t believe akin to Guerlain. Layering Herod over the Brown or vice versa might even Surpass the Herod experience. Pure Magic.

I have both, for me it's better to spend on Cassius, because Layden is so weak! Idk, mybe Alhambra is just using the latest Layton formula which is pretty weak. But Layden scent is good, it's just a bummer to have a perfume that smells so good but is weak in both sillage and performance. After 1hr, I barely smell it, and even my wife said are u even wearing a fragrance. That's how bad it is for Layden. But for Cassius, it's a must own. It smells so good, the projection is nice - not loud by any means, and the performance is great, 6- 8 hrs on my skin, and the dry down is so addicting.

I had heard many possitive opinion about EPs Devine Vanile, how quality of it? Becouse eg I was trying to offset Layton wtih Detour noir, but it's always fill a litle bit cheap and syntetic. I would expect that EP do way beter quality stuff then clone brands.

I wonder why channels ignore the fact that these clone houses exist. Dua and Alexandria have had Herod clones for years (and Alexandria’s is really nice). Not against the middle eastern fragrances at all but I know he’s reviewed Alexandria on this channel before. It was a while ago but to say there have been no Herod clones up to now isn’t accurate.

The important thing to remember is that it's creating a good situation for consumers. Influencers can review and promote cheap fragrances by middle Eastern dupe houses, which people enjoy because they are affordable. Secondly the middle Eastern houses make a ton of money thanks to higher sales and the fame that comes from going viral. They can then reinvest that money in better ingredients and make even better fakes. Which is why, thanks to influencers, we are living in the golden age of dupes.

This is the first scent from "lattafa" I like. I really have to disagree. Lattafa scents are the worst from all the dupe brands. Afnan makes way better scents than Lattafa. Even Ajmal is better than Lattafa. Also Parfens makes really really good dupes. But Lattafa smells almost always damn artificial and not even close to the original.

Alexandria Fragrances - Arabian Horse DESTROYS Alhambra Hercules, and it's not even close. I wouldn't waste my money on this, as it disappears from your skin within a few hours. I will say, it smells good, but the performance is trash... At least on my skin.

I dunno what´s wrong with my bottle, it smells like dog´s piss! i really thought it will works well. Herod it's one of my favorites from PDM, but althought it's long lasting don't project so much, so looking for alternatives i found Hercules, but big mistake this time! i'm gonna try with a decant from a different seller.

Pdm Herod and TF Tobacco Vanille are very similar DNA. To me Herod is lighter version TF Tobacco Vanille.
